Excellent fried chicken, possibly the best you'll ever have. And the rice is cooked to perfection. And they're basic white wine... is a vino verde which is very nice. But, their attempt at a salad is a serious fail. Don't get me wrong, it's still the bestfried chicken you'll probably ever eat, but a little bit of lettuce with feta? Or blue cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette is justnot working. I'd love to have some Asian slaw which is super cheap and simple to make. But seriously, go for the chicken! Read more

Billy's Burnt Chicken and Spooky Bathrooms. Excited to finally try Billy's chicken. Beautiful space, friendly attentive... waitstaff interesting food and beverage choices. Ordered the Korean Chicken sandwich and the Asian Sampler with truffle friesand Kimchi daikon. The sandwich was OK but underwhelming. In the chicken sandwich world the chicken should stick out past thebun, dominate the space, not the bread. The flavor was also too mild, could have used more kick. The Asian Sampler was badlyover cooked. The main flavor was burnt flour. The Taiwanese chicken was dry with a touch of 5 spice and burnt flour. The Koreanchicken was happily moist but again kind of mild for a Korean chicken and the Japanese chicken was dry with burnt flour tastes,no ginger soysauce or garlic. BTW zangi, which is what Japanese fried chicken is called should be juicy and flavorful withginger, soy sauce and garlic and it's coated in katakuriko (potato starch) not flour. The shoestring truffle fries were great aswas the off-site produced kimchi daikon. The bathrooms are creepy, good Shining or Halloween vibes but why? Read more

My wife arrived 30 minutes before closing on 8/28 and were stopped at the door by a young woman who refused to seat us. While we... don't live here, my wife and I were married in Ashland and visit often. Neither we, nor or family, nor any of our friends (if Ican help it) will ever try to step foot in Billy's Fried Chicken again. Read more

Billy's Fried Chicken was delicious. Casual, house music, dark...the mini post era underground rave of the fried chicken world..... Hands down my best fried chicken experience in Oregon and yes, this includes Portland. I had the Buttermilk and Japanese stylefried chicken and I enjoyed both types. The chicken is usually a gluten free recipe. Today there was an exception with theKorean style chicken. All fried chicken is crispy and slips right off the bone. If you enjoy dill, you will enjoy the picklestoo, very flavorful. The truffle fries are salty and have a specific flavor to them that I can't quite place, same with the coleslaw, making them unique and memorable flavors. The one complaint I have is the sweet tea was 5.00 and I was literally servedabout 4 oz of tea. I am not exaggerating, look at the picture. Even with the greedy tea incident (do you see the amount of icein that glass?!) I feel good about rating 5 stars. I'll be back. Ps. Potato salad is a 3.5. Read more

Overall great place. When they say small kimchi they mean it though, everything else was a solid 8/10. Fried chicken was... excellent and fairly authentic, beer on top was locally sourced and decent, selection is pretty small but that's what you expectfrom a place this size. Wait staff was top notch, had a great conversation and she made some great recommendations. Read more
