Went to Aspen for the weekend for hubby?s birthday and we stopped at this restaurant. It was amazing. The food was finger... licking good. We had the ribs of course lol along with jalapeños sausage. For some reason my daughter wanted breakfast foodwhich they served for lunch too. The place was good and spacious seating. The server was good. Definitely recommend this place. Read more

Try it! Looked this place up on diners drive in and dives. We were met with 2 carafes of ice cold water. After a long day of... hiking, I think they know exactly what weary travelers need. We tried everything and it was all good. Not Texas Bbq and stillgood. Also they had a habanero sauce that gave it a little kick. Waiter was in a contagiously good mood. I?m from the South and now live in Denver, and I hesitate before getting barbecue out here?. But I was talked into trying the... Aspen Hickory House and I?m so glad I was! Their barbecue was great! I've eaten here several times now, and overall it's good and I've enjoyed it. The ribs are by far the best thing on the menu,... and I highly recommend them to anyone. The brisket sandwich is good as far as flavor, but the choice to go with a shredded beefstyle versus the more traditional sliced brisket is odd to me, and takes away from the brisket itself. Sides are typical BBQfare, with good taste, but nothing extravagant or wild. Prices are comparable to most other BBQ places in the area ($12-18 perperson), and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Parking sucks in the area, but that's not really their fault. Read more
