Really good food! I haven?t had a dish here I didn?t thoroughly enjoy. Staff is polite. Having to order at the counter is kind... of lame, but probably for the best because in my experience things progress here real slow. If you are eating in, my advice isto bring a book or a board game. If you are ordering to go, I suggest adding an extra 10-15 minutes to whatever pick-up timethey give. If you are trying to catch a quick bite before a movie, this place is worth saving for another time. Medium spicy ispretty tame. Read more

Food was scrumptious, wonderful service and beautifully served. Regarding previous comments on service: please keep in mind the... ?help wanted? sign in the window. Understaffing is a huge issue across the restaurant industry. This may also apply to orderingat the front and paying before/after the meal. Also considering dinner prices the food is very filling and, while they may notbe large, American-style servings for some dishes, it is quite reasonably priced for the amount of ingredients and quality ofthe spices and overall taste of the food. As four adults, we were full after making three dishes and sides a family-style mealthat cost $60. A solid 5/5 don?t sleep on this lunch buffet or fun dinner experience. Read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch. The Indian food we received was scrumptious! Honestly, the best Indian I?ve ever gotten from a... restaurant. The naan was also spectacular! Aside from homemade, it too was the best I?ve had. It was buttery, warm, and best ofall not burnt! Only four stars because service was dismal. We were asked to pay for our food before we were waited on or evenhad a chance eat. I not did feel comfortable with this, because I didn?t know what to tip. The waitress had us wait for about 10minutes for a table, despite the restaurant being almost completely empty. Once we were seated we never received refills anddidn?t see our waitress again. I ordered a mango lassi and didn?t receive it. I couldn?t ask where it was because our waitresswas MIA. I should?ve tipped less honestly. But overall great food just terrible service. Read more

Amazing food. I've been going to Himani's Indian Cuisine for over 10 years. My favorite is the Cracked Pepper Chicken with Rice... and Garlic Naan (pictured). The rice was perfect! Caution on the level of spice you order, Medium is spicy. Naan is burnt on the bottom. Dahl was good.... This meal was $40. Too much for this quality in my opinion. I didn't care for the cauliflower. I was expecting somethingdifferent. They said that is how the Naan bread is. However when I look at the their pics it is not like this. Waste of money. I miss Indian food. I tried Read more

If you want to be discriminated against this is the place for you! We asked to dine outside because it was a beautiful warm... night and it looked like their AC was not working inside. We were given a menu and was told to order inside when we were ready.Menu is full of good traditional Indian cuisine, so many to choose from so little time because we have a long trip ahead of us.When we finally decided what we wanted, I went in to place order. The couple that were seated outside next to us went in aheadof us to pay. So I sat back down and waited for them to finish. I gave them enough time but when I checked again there wasanother couple paying their meals so I waited for them to walk out before I head back in. I placed our order and when I wasabout to turn around and head back the cashier/waiter asked me to pay, I was shocked. Really?? Everyone paid their meals afterbut only I had to pay before my meal? ( I was thinking in my head I didn't say it) Seeing how everyone paid after, I went inwith the intention to pay afterwards. Because this was not the pattern I witnessed, I had to retrieve my wallet outside. I paid.I gladly paid but I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. Standing there paying for a meal I haven't received while others aredining in looking at me pay when they haven't paid themselves. What did I do to deserve this? Why can't I pay after likeeveryone else? It was our first time there and it will be the last. Read more

We don?t miss a meal at Himani when traveling through Astoria. We have our favorites including their eggplant and okra dish.... Gobi 65 is something my kids look forward to following a recommendation from a friend. A must try! Read more

Excruciatingly slow service. Food is far from being Indian food. Too much oil, too much turmeric. We were Family of 7 (Indian)... folks. Nobody liked the food. Big chunk of food was wasted. We occasionally visit Astoria from Portland, visited the restaurantfor the first time. Won?t visit again. Read more
