Reviews for Ship Out Fish & Chips in Astoria, OR

Service was very go inspite of being short staffed. Clam Chowder was very creamy and lots of clams and adequate amount of... potatoes. Halibut fish and chips was stellar. I had no complaints. Will go back anytime I am in area. When The Ship Innclosed their doors never thought I would find a replacement. This will probably be my go to place. It is food truck style withseating under cover, inside a greenhouse style building. Very limited seating. Some of the floor is gravel. That is probablythe only concerns I would have. Elderly may not be able to navigate the seating area. Read more

Such a cute, whimsical, unique place! I recommend the halibut. The prices seemed a little steep compared to what I've seen but... it is worth it. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. All the art pieces and knick-knacks are also for sale so youcan browse around while waiting for your food. Read more

My wife stated it's the best fish & chips ever, and we've had a lot. Ordered the full plate (3/4 pieces) of Halibut $22.00 and... split it. Fries were perfect, double fried and lightly seasoned. The Halibut was done, not dry or greasy. It took 20 minutes toreceive the order, but it was worth it. Quite an eclectic setting to eat there. Read more

Awesome quintessential ambience amongst hundreds of handmade local nicknacks that are up for sale. Each vying for attention and... competing with the other. The place is operated out of a truck and yet the feeling is of a full-service restaurant with awesomeservice and so I'm lovely people serving ya! Food's amazing and very local. The fish food here is lovely. The place is a mustvisit! Read more

This place was recommended by our local family members so we went and they weren't kidding! It's awesome food! The clam chowder... sells out fast so go early. We had amazing cod fish and chips, the coleslaw was even great too. Also had the prawn Cesar saladwhich the prawns are butterflied then fried so they are huge! This is the best fish and chips I've had in a long time! Read more

I would say this is some of the best fish and chips I have had. The fish prices are fresh. Also good size. The coleslaw wasn?t... what I have had before but the sauce on it was great. Cute sit in area too. Lots to look at. But comfortable to be with thekiddos. Since they were able to play a board game while we waited. Read more

This place came recommended to us by a man my friend and I met in a tasting room who used to be an executive chef. He said they... have the best fish and chips in Astoria and he was right. These were the best fish and chips I've ever had period. Very flaky, crispy and not greasy. The tartar sauce and cole slaw were great too. Can't wait to return. Read more

The halibut fish and chips, and the halibut sandwich were perfectly cooked and breaded. Good fries, also. Served in a metal boat... basket with newspaper style parchment. Absolutely delicious and worthy of a full sit-down restaurant experience. I've heardtheir crab cakes are to die for... Unfortunately I can't eat crab. Read more
