We asked a local where to eat. They did not hesitate to call this place out as a top contender amongst a sea of establishments... staples. I can honestly say I would eat there at least once a day if I lived there. Sauces where phenomenal. Meats and tofu wereboth seasoned perfectly and cooked to textural perfection. I used to order from here fairly often and have recently started eating ?out? again. I only received 4 pieces of chicken with... this order. The food is delicious, but definitely disappointed with this ratio. I?d prefer less of the side and more of theentree. Read more
This place is small and you can only order your food online and pick it up to eat it outside which I thought was a bit strange... cause most restaurants have opened back up BUT if this review is based solely on the food then this place is amazing. Everythingtasted fresh and delicious. The brown rice mixed with the mashed sweet potatoes was ingenious. The radish and cucumber wasslightly citrusy but in the best way. The chicken was a bit dry but it was not as noticeable when paired with the spicy avocadoand honey sriracha sauces. The lemonade was too sour and paying $1 for a tiny sliver of kimchi was NOT worth it but it makes upfor it with you being able to recycle or compost almost everything they use, including the utensils. Hubby had the pork whichwas also a little dry but flavorful and the quinoa salad was good but not as good as the sweet potato. Would definitelyrecommend! Read more
The restaurant scene and Athens itself have expanded greatly since I attended UGA. One can argue whether this is good thing or a... bad thing, but Maepole is good, and I would categorize it as the Gen Z successor to Five Star Day which closed its doors severalyears ago -- warehouse vs cozy, home cooking with an international flair. Anytime we can get healthy and well-prepared food onthe road, it's already a win. Maepole achieves this. It is super easy to order online, but make sure to order your sauces if youwant them. I noticed them on the menu, not sure if they are a la carte, but since there was no push during the ordering processto select them, I am guessing they are an add-on. The wide variety of home prepared, non-meat choices (but with some proteinsavailable) makes Maepole truly unique. Read more
