I?m giving this place 4 stars because I don?t want to mess with their rating. Too bad you can?t write a comment about a place... without having to rank it. I put together a group of 8 friends for dinner. It?s a lovely spot, one of very few places whereyou can sit by the water outdoors in the catskills. Give me a cocktail in that beautiful location and the food and the serviceare beside the point. I made a reservation through their website, but when we got there we discovered that they were sponsoringa story-telling evening. A woman was on stage speaking into a mic that was amplified throughout the entire space about herC-section. Not exactly the atmosphere I had hoped for. Our group of 8 couldn?t talk because it would be rude to the speakers.When I said to the hostess that I didn?t see this event on the website, she said it was posted on Instagram. Not helpful. Wefound a perfectly nice brewery within walking distance which saved the evening. This wasn?t the first time this happened. Lastsummer we were there for open mic night and sat through an evening of local bands playing Charlie Daniels. We had to yellacross the table but at least we could talk. It?s such a lovely spot I wish the management would trust in the location and letpeople enjoy the evening in peace. Or at least post a schedule on line to give guests a heads up. Read more
Nice setting but the food was terrible. Our meal was very undercooked.. A small glass of wine offered in a plastic cup.... Silverware came a few minutes after the food was served. Overpriced. Staff overworked. Best to avoid. Read more
We launched our boat, in Coxsackie, took the Hudson downstream to Athens. Docked in town, and went to the Stewart House River... Grill. Great food, micro brew beer, and live music. Could not ask for more, on a beautiful summer afternoon. Read more
Update: Oyster Fest started on Sunday 6/19/22. A nice spot along the river. Service was excellent but the full seafood menu is... not quite ready for the season. All around a good visit. Read more
Great food and staff. The outdoor dining is amazing. Multiple mature trees shad the area and you get a great view of the river.... Patio also has a walk down to a dock on the river as well. Also has a bar and typically has live music as well. Great summerspot. Read more
Very nice location on the water - Staff were friendly. Drinks, we?ll we asked if the cocktail was with Grapefruit she said no... (Pamplemouse margarita) and of course it was. The beer was more tricky ?Sloop Juice Bomb? didn?t dare ask what was in it -settled for a boring Corona. Read more
My drink is everything. Asked for KetelOne and clearly got Tito's. Ugh. Nice place, kind of like a picnic atmosphere and picnic... food. Service was just ok. One bathroom. The stars is right not sure I'll be going again. Read more
