Fish was so overcooked it smelled burnt & so dry could barely eat. Drink with no refills was gone before the long wait was over.... French fries were fine, but $10 down the drain... Read more
You have to be a supa hungry runner to eat here. The smell of rats knocked me back. (Not exactly sure if it's rats but the smell... of uncleanness reakes when you walk in) I couldn't even place an order due to the smell and dirtiness of the establishment.Management/ Owner you're going to have to do better. I visited this location while I went to the local Kroger at 1160 Moreland Ave so I decided to visit American Deli since I has... time to spare and went with The 2pc Tilapia Combo with a Sweet Tea to drink. The Cashier was very nice and knowledgeable sheknew her stuff. The Food took maybe 6 minutes because The Fish had to cook , that I didnt mind when I got it The Food was HotCripsy No Fishy Taste. The French Fries had a nice crunch as well they didnt have any salt on them so I salted them myself usingThe Seasoned Salt. Next time I must try The CheeseBurger add 5pc Garlic Parmesan Wings .. Update 2/17/2022 I went in againtoday I missed my Favorite Cashier I call her Auntie but I met the cook today and he was as too genuinely nice. I told em togive me the Regular which is the 2pc Tilapia Combp with a Sweet Tea and Lemonade aka Arnold Palmer. The Cook dude told me Iwould love it cause he made it , that was funny. In closing I found out each Combo is $10.88 Straight up and that's for the MainEntree it does come with Fries and a Soft Drink.. First and foremost this place has a B grade from the health department and has the sign hidden in the corner of the restaurant.... Secondly it has a rank odor that smells like bad sewage or toxic gas. I love American Deli but this location isn?t it. I walkedin and was overcome by the horrid smell thru my mask smh. My wife and I ordered two 10-piece wings. Customer service was horrible and food service was extremely slow. We were willing to... work with that, but once we received our wings we were very shocked. It was very obvious to see, smell, and taste the fact thatthe wings were expired and spoiled. Of course we were unhappy with our experience, so we called the American deli Morelandavenue location and no one answered the phone. I would not recommend this American deli to any American deli lover. Going heremight change your opinion about American deli overall. Don't eat there! Read more
Only giving 1 star because I can't give zero. I've been going to this place for years and it used to be excellent. But... unfortunately, management has changed several times and it's gotten progressively worse. In the past year, there have been atleast five different occasions when I?ve tried to get dinner only to be told the grill is already closed. They close at 9:00 andeach time, I had arrived before 8:00-8:30. Knowing their history of closing the grill early and really wanting a cheesesteak,we decided to give them another try and went in tonight at 7:30. When I first walked in the guy behind the grill visible sighed,making it obvious he wasn?t interested in waiting on us. Before even asking what we wanted, he said it would be 25 minutesbefore anything could be ready. There were no other customers in the store and nothing on the grill, so not sure why anythingwould take that long. But I said no problem, we needed to go next door to Kroger anyway, so I could swing back through and pickit up. Again, another sigh before he finally asked what we wanted. When I said three Philly combos, he immediately said sorry,grill is closed. Again, it was 7:30 on a Thursday and they don?t close until 9:00. At this point I was very hangry and well,let?s just say Jesus did not take the wheel when I responded. And all this is overlooking that the place is never clean, thefurniture and the door handle are often broken, and no one is ever friendly when I'm in there. I guess shame on me for goingthere in the first place since obviously they don't care about their store or their customers. This American Deli hasofficially been added to our never again list. The only other restaurant around that is on that list is the disastrous BurgerKing in this same shopping center.
