Went for brunch. The steak was a little bit chewy but the flavor was good. The empanadas were tasty.

My husband and I went here for date night and had a great time, hold the flies. ???????? Other than that we enjoyed ourselves a... great deal. Great food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere. I called to see what time lunch ended and was told 4:30. The person answering the phone failed to tell me that they stopped... seating at 3:00pm. I was disappointed to arrive at 3:13pm to be turned away after driving 50 minutes. When I arrived, I toldthe hostess I'd called to verify the time. She just apologized that she didn't tell me about the seating. I had my heart set ona Mercado Bowl. Please let people know this info when calling or at least do something to compensate my time coming overhere. Update: Thank you to Tarina for responding to my review. Finding a vegan friendly restaurant is difficult, especially a restaurant that is vegan friendly and has non-vegan food (for my... boyfriend). Bar Mercado & Recess have merged so you receive a menu with both options!! We came here Monday November 22,2021. Ifyou did not know they do $5 house margaritas on Monday! They are flavorful, strong, and good. Ordered vegan friendly appetizerson the Bar Mercado side. Appetizers: Avocado salad, cauliflower, and chicken empandas (my boyfriend order 3 because he said theywere really good). He also ate my appetizers (which he never eats anything vegan) and he loved the avocado salad and cauliflower(and he does not like cauliflower), but that was the most flavorful cauliflower we have had at a restaurant. Ordered veganfriendly entree on Recess menu. Entree: Tom Cruz (VEGAN BOWL ) that has good flavor, its like a Spanish bowl, coconut rice,beans, corn, impossible chorizo , vegan cashew chipotle cream, kale, and red onions. (check the Recess menu). My boyfriendordered from the Bar Mercado side, and he ordered a chef special which is not on the menu. Dessert: Tres Leche (Bar MercadoMenu) *NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY* It is vegetarian.
