Reviews for Hikaru Ramen in Atlanta, GA

Finally, Atlanta has a good Ramen restaurant. I had a traditional shoyu ramen, which is best way to gage the quality of ramen... shops, and my companions had non-traditional curry ramen. We also ordered takoyaki. The best indicator of good ramen is thequality of soup. It has to be hot enough to where you can see the steam coming out. Then the flavor. Both passed the testeasily. Soup had rich flavors, hot, and didn't taste watered down. Then the noodles. They can't be overcooked and notsticking to each other. They serve thicker noodle, and had a chewy texture. Another pass. Then the ingredients. Shoyu bowldoesn't come with an egg by default. This was a disappointment. I had to add to the order for extra charge. Good thing wasthat egg was not served cold. Some places do, and that's a big no no for me. So aside from having to pay extra for it, anotherpass. Takoyaki came out hot and fast. Nothing special, but they were good. The only negative is that they don't have a blackpepper on the tables. You have to ask for it. Menu list is minimal, and this is exactly how it should be. Don't try and serveevery popular Japanese dish. Focus on a few and make them good. One other negative is the price. For 3 ramen, 2 takoyaki, and2 soft drinks, total bill was $76. You will never pay this much in Japan. But I'm sure I will be back to try other ramens. Read more

The best ramenya in town. I used to visit once per week. Unfortunately, after being pressured to tip more I don't feel... comfortable continuing my patronage. $13.50 is already a luxury meal, and I can't personally justify adding 3+ additionaldollars onto each purchase. It's a shame because I love the food, but I can't handle that price point for a place where I sit ona hard steel stool and eat a bowl of noodles. Read more

I thought the ramen was okay, but nothing to write home about. The pork was not a soft chasu, but more chewy and smoky. Would... probably not eat it again. We also got the gyoza, which tasted a bit off- the seasoning was closer to a sausage flavor. Read more

Very decent ramen. Good rich broth. I would like a spicier option. I got the spiciest ramen and asked for extra spicy in the... notes but it was barely spicy at all. Also, it would be really nice to have kakuni on the menu as an add-on option (braised porkbelly). Will order again. Definitely better than average. Read more

Was craving some ramen and decided to check out Hikaru. Have passed it many times and never noticed it was there and I?m so glad... I did! The girl working was very nice, I heard her say it was her first day?go girl! I ordered the Black Tonkotsu Ramen withPork. The broth was super rich and delicious, the pork perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. The seasoned egg was cooked toperfection. Will definitely be back to try the spicy ramen!!! Read more

We had a chicken ramen, spicy vegetarian ramen, and spring rolls for lunch. Clean kitchen and dining area with courteous... service. The menu is not extensive, but what we ordered was delicious. Great place for quick lunch on a cold day. Read more

First time ever having authentic Japanese Ramen with a first date too. The Gyoza was absolutely the best I have ever had, the... service was stellar, and the Black Tonkatsu Ramen sent me to foodie heaven. The broth was so rich, the noodles held the flavorbetter than I ever attempted at home, and the presentation was so amazing. The atmosphere of the restaurant was just amazing. Iwill miss this restaurant when I leave I was addicted with a single visit! Read more
