La Grotta Ristorante was an amazing experience. We stopped by this weekend and got lucky enough to make the reservation just a... few hours before visiting. Most people there were well dressed and the setting is really eloquent. The food and service was alsoexcellent. Definitely one of my favorite high-end Italian restaurants in Atlanta. Read more

I've been to South Philly and North Boston for some amazing Italian food. But, this place takes the place. It was the best... Italian food I ever had. I loved my Manhattan. The calamari were soft and melt in your mouth, covered in delectable marinara. The prosciutto was melted like butter on your tongue and don't get me started on that burrata. The escargot was my leastfavorite appetizer since it was overwhelmed by the spinach--still flavorful and amazing...don't get me wrong. I just wanted totaste that amazing white wine garlic sauce with the snails. The waiter did not lie when he said the caesar salad was the best Iwould ever have. I got the Scaloppine Di Vitello Alla Grotta and fell in love with the baby mushrooms (and I hate mushrooms) andeasily cut meat. For dessert, I died on a cloud with the tiramisu and decaf espresso. I highly recommend this place and willcome back again. Read more

Having eaten at many fine dining restaurants all over the world, including those with Michelin Stars, eating here was one of the... greatest dining experiences ever and I am so glad to have discovered this restaurant in Atlanta. Our waiter Billy wasincredibly welcoming and friendly. He took care of us like we were long lost friends. He knew the menu very well, and he evenoffered a few off the menu items (which is what I ordered). What I respect most about about Billy is that he specificallyprovided recommendations on what not to order with certain dishes, due to certain flavors clashing. The food was amazing. Theflavors were all there, the portions were large, yet it was not over salted. It is too common that large portion entrees tastegood for the first few bites, but halfway through it becomes too salty, heavy, or greasy; this is not the case here at LaGrotta. Relative to the service and how the food tasted, I think La Grotta is a bargain, and I definitely look forward toreturning in the near future. Read more

I wish I could give more stars! La Grotta is my favorite special occasion restaurant in Atlanta. It's unique in it's location.... It's easy to miss. It's on the bottom floor, basement level of a small condo building in Buckhead. It's been around for over 40years and is consistently rated a top Atlanta restaurant every year. The courtyard has beautiful trees, flowers, and lights. There are also heaters for cooler weather. The food! Outstanding! I would recommend asking specifically for Bulent as serverwhenyou make reservation and don't even bother looking at the menu. Just ask him what you should order. Service is impeccable. Gofor the tuna carpaccio to start, either mushroom risotta or sacchetti (or both) for entrée. You can order both in half portion. But don't forget to add truffles. Melt in your mouth amazing! If you don't want pasta, hands down go for the bone in veal. Thecreme brulee is perfection, as is the espresso martini. Aperol Spritz or Negroni are great Italian options to have before dinnerarrives. For dinner, ask for a wine pairing. You can't go wrong. This place is more than just dinner. It's an experience. I grow up in Sweden where Italian food and restaurants are at the highest standards. A lot of Italians migrated to Sweden years... back and they brought with them their food culture and passion for life. I got to try this restaurant that has been on my listfor while. For me it was amazing and super friendly server. Which is the door to everything. How you are welcomed and treatedalways matter to me. I would for sure recommend Sacchetti formaggio e tartufi neri was amazing. And I am sure going back for it.After coming from New Orleans and trying their mussels it wasn’t the same. But that’s me comparing New Orleans mussels withATL. You try it and let me know. I also tried Veal Grotta which was delicious. For sure to try it again Pappardelle withlobster, amazing delicious and for the dessert Tiramisu just melted in my mouth. Cheers, BN Read more
