Bartender ripped us off: went in on a Thursday night, ordered $7 in drinks, the younger blond bartender took my $20 bill, then... gave me $3 in change. When asked about it, instead of looking down at her register like a normal human being, she staredstraight at me and yelled "YOU gave me a $10 - YOU'RE wrong". Not wanting a confrontation, I stated that I did not have any 10'sto give her. Again, she didn't even look at the register, just called me wrong again. I just shook my head and left. It's fine,rip customers off. Steal $10... But if she's stealing from patrons, She's also skimming as well. The mgmt of this place needs totake a close look at how its employees are operating and get this woman the heck away from its customers. Read more
Bartender ignored multiple customers and continued to empty her tip jars. I had to actually flag her down to get her attention... after standing at the bar, with money out for several minutes. Second bartender was much better. Read more
Absolutely terrible service from what should be a great bar. Went in looking for an enjoyable scene and was met with nothing but... a local distain that basically said if you aren't from here than you aren't welcome. Without provocation, was told to take mymoney and leave, and when I questioned the bartender who accused me, was told that it didn't matter if I was right to questionwhat triggered their response, that I needed to leave. Even though patrons at the bar said that I said nothing deserving of thetreatment I received, they were too afraid to say it directly to the bartender. So her rule was absolute and completelyindifferent to reason and the truth. That sums up my experience with this bar. I even tried to listen to them and understandwhat they took offense to from me. But the reality is that it didn't matter, they just want to attack an outsider. Unfortunatefor what could be such a great attribute for this area, but they seem to prefer to be a typical thug bar. shame. Read more
Great little beach bar. Surprisingly good bloody marys. Very unpretentious. Nice outdoor deck with ocean view. I stop here every... time I am at Atlantic Beach. Read more
Cozy tavern right on the beach with friendly staff, easy access in/out, and the bar specials are the best on the island! Christa... makes a fantastic spicy bloody mary to kickstart your day, too!! The owner, Rich, has put together a dog-friendly, fun, relaxingpub with plenty of outdoor seating including its own sandy beach nook complete beach chairs and everything. The only drawback isit's cash-only and the ATM charges a $3 service fee on top of whatever your bank is going to charge. In this day & age hardlyanybody carries cash anymore. Read more
Atlantic Beach, North Carolina - The ?Tackle Box Tavern? is a hand-off bar from ?Tina? in Virginia Beach. Bar stools are back... to work in NC, but the only bar stool happened to be next to the co-owner ?Rich? (my pARTy Gods always gave a plan). ?Rich?gave me an interesting insights into the design & construction of the ?Tackle Box?. The ?Tackle Box? is a very nautical-themedocean view bar with an emphasis on mermaids. It appears to be a friendly interactive bar with the usual beach characters. Thebar is a CASH ONLY beer & liquor bar with option to order in food.
