Obnoxious service regarding reservations. Basically they say they take them but only if they feel like it. They suggest you... leave a message requesting a reservation but will only call you back if they feel like it. Showed up early just after 5pm emptyresturant was seated right away. Why not call us and confirm? The entire floor staff was literally doing nothing waiting forguests The tableside preparations are fun, delicious and a must try. Our salad and entrees were prepared Grandma style. Bigdelicious portions all well executed. The name does this spot a disservice as you'd never know it was a quality family ItalianRestaurant. My wife and I ate at Cafe 2825 for our anniversary. Parking was easy, and we were escorted to a nice little table in the outside... covered dining area. The wait staff were excellent, polite, and on top of everything. Perfect service. We started off withappetizers, she got clams oreganato, I got the spicy honey shrimp and calamari. Light, bursting with flavor, absolutelyscrumptious! I forgot the bread. It's made on the premises, and it's delectable. But don't fill up on it. Next came our Ceasarsalad. They made it table-side. It was fantastic. Then came the main course. The wife had lobster and shrimp scampi. I got theveal Oso bucco. Not sure I can describe the culinary perfection that was the main course. Everything melted in your mouth, themeat, the carrots, the potatoes, her garlic heaped pasta, the lobster,... it was all beyond incredible. It was an understateddeliciousness that exploded in your mouth. Nothing was overbearing or over done. Just perfection. We got dessert to go, as wewere both bursting. NY coconut cream cheese cake. We ate that when we got home a bit later. Again, home-made. Again, so damndelicious it should be illegal. There is nothing I can criticize about the entire dining and eating experience that is Cafe2825. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth every cent. We will be back. Often. A must try place. The service and food is amazing. Owner Joe walks around to the tables and even cuts the fish and serves it to... you. Homemade burrata at the table awesome. The stuffed artichoke is over the top. My wife had carbonara and I had pork ossobucoamazing. All the food came out hot as if just made fresh as it should. Over the top cooking skills. Read more
Cafe 2825 Finally got reservations at Cafe 2825 on the Friday before the big snowstorm. Predicted blizzard didn’t stop anyone... from dining there as it was very busy. We sat inside the main dining room but we could see people dining in the big tent outbackof the restaurant. There is valet parking out back. Our table was in the back of the front room. To begin with we ordered thetableside prepared fresh mozzarella with tomatoes, basil, roasted peppers and balsamic vinegar which was delicious. Then we gotthe tableside prepared Caesar salad. The salad is actually for two but we shared it with 3. I ordered the lamb chops withroasted potatoes. The potatoes were too salty for my taste however my daughter liked them. The lamb chops were cooked as orderedwhich was medium rare and were tender and flavorful. My daughter ordered the seafood manicotti which shrimp and crab. Shethought it was too rich however she liked it better as leftovers. My SIL ordered chicken marsala which he thoroughly enjoyed. Wewere too stuffed for dessert so we got it to go. We ordered 2-slices of blueberry cheesecake and 3-slices of the Italiancheesecake. I also ordered a pineapple upside-down cake martini with had a very strong overpowering cake batter flavor whichoverpowered any hint of pineapple. We will definitely be back again minus the martini. Incredible food. Indoor had the most perfect ambience. We had the fried meatballs, long hots, clams casino and zucchini flowers... for appetizers. Pasta wheel is a must and was so good! Everyone in our party had something different off of the menu forentrees and everything was cooked to perfection. Lemon sorbet was good but the coconut cream cheesecake was out of this world!
