This is a nice clean restaurant. There were a lot of customers in the restaurant. I always laugh and say that there are no sad... people in a Mexican restaurant! The food was very good however the only thing I would not recommend is their jalapeno poppers..They are basically jalapenos with a piece of sliced cheese stuck inside. They have no flavor. Pathetic! Do not go here! The food was decent. The service was horrible, the prices are insane for what you get. I... waited 40 minutes (25 of which were after happy hour) to place a drink order. Which no one ever came to get. I had to stop themanager to ask for service. When they finally showed up they just brought the bill. The manager, rather than facing up to themultitude of mistakes told me it was the server's first day. Tried to give me a free cheese dip for my next visit, as if I wouldever go back. I saw that server there 2 weeks before when I swung by for a margarita only. There are so many good choiceswithin a mile of this place. Choose anywhere but here. Pathetic! Read more

This was one of the best Mexican food spots in Auburn and the service was above and beyond! The guacamole and salsa was super... yummy. I had the best Chile rellano with shrimp was super flavorful. One of the best I've ever had and so much food! It was agood portion size and so much that I split it in half. I had saved the other half for my second meal. Read more
Either you're going to love this place or it's a once and done. Everything tastes fresh and is made to order. You won't find a... pool of grease on your plate, just fresh ingredients. There was a lack of flavor in everything we ate. Even the salsa was bland.The chili verde lunch special was recommended by my waiter, but he didn't tell me it included a drink. If I would have knownthis, I would have had something besides water. The lunch special was $12 for the speciality plate. It's just enough food andyour won't be taking home any leftovers. Went to El Agave for the first time and took two of my friends out for an early dinner. The food was excellent, service was... good, but it turned out the drinks cost more than the entire meal. The price of the drinks is not listed on the menu. Turns outa standard Margarita cost $17.95! Beer around the same. Highly recommend for the food, but unless you're willing to pay twice asmuch for a drink at this restaurant, don't go there. Read more
