What a great BBQ "joint" - reminds me of a hole in the wall you would find in Alabama or small town Texas. Everything I have... had here is excellent, but let me tell you - I used to live in the South and have had BBQ from many different places, but theribs here at Smokey Pit are maybe the best I have ever had - tender, great flavor, their sauce is fantastic! Sides like potatosalad and cole slaw are also tasty. Prices are reasonable and service is top notch. If you like BBQ and you are in the area orjust passing through, you have to try this place! The food was very tasty. I had the brisket sandwich my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. I like my brisket without being... smothered in so much sauce, so next time I will ask for sauce on the side. This place gets 1 ???? only because I have to put something. We ordered hot link, pork ribs, dark meat chicken, potato salad,... cole slaw, fries and pasta salad. I have never, ever had dryer and dry, harder than hell, tasteless, bbq food until today. Weasked for dark meat. How does part of the breast and back constitute dark meat? The last time Inchecked, dark meat consistsof leg and thigh. OMG! Those ribs were NOT fall off the bone! They were waaaaaay overcooked, tough and dry, dry, dry!!! Fries were soggy, both, potato and pasta salad were more like pickle salad! The slaw was watery! Needless to say, it was ourfirst and last time going there! Read more
Oh my goodness.. this is amazing BBQ. The Ribs were so meaty, BBQ beans were not to sweet and not to smokey just perfect.... Macaroni and potato salads homemade. Hot link spicy but not so spicy that you couldn't enjoy it. Tri tip sandwich stuffed with tender slices. Only 30 minutes from the house so yes we will be back.
