This little hole in the wall BBQ joint off of Hwy 80 in Auburn, is a good surprise for my wife and I. We love finding hidden... gems and this is one of those. You won't be disappointed! I had the 3 meat combo with ribs, link and brisket along with macaronisalad and fries. Read more

What a great BBQ "joint" - reminds me of a hole in the wall you would find in Alabama or small town Texas. Everything I have... had here is excellent, but let me tell you - I used to live in the South and have had BBQ from many different places, but theribs here at Smokey Pit are maybe the best I have ever had - tender, great flavor, their sauce is fantastic! Sides like potatosalad and cole slaw are also tasty. Prices are reasonable and service is top notch. If you like BBQ and you are in the area orjust passing through, you have to try this place! The food was very tasty. I had the brisket sandwich my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. I like my brisket without being... smothered in so much sauce, so next time I will ask for sauce on the side. But it had a really good flavor and the barbecuedbeans were great. I will definitely come back. Read more

This place gets 1 ???? only because I have to put something. We ordered hot link, pork ribs, dark meat chicken, potato salad,... cole slaw, fries and pasta salad. I have never, ever had dryer and dry, harder than hell, tasteless, bbq food until today. Weasked for dark meat. How does part of the breast and back constitute dark meat? The last time Inchecked, dark meat consistsof leg and thigh. OMG! Those ribs were NOT fall off the bone! They were waaaaaay overcooked, tough and dry, dry, dry!!! Fries were soggy, both, potato and pasta salad were more like pickle salad! The slaw was watery! Needless to say, it was ourfirst and last time going there! Read more

Oh my goodness.. this is amazing BBQ. The Ribs were so meaty, BBQ beans were not to sweet and not to smokey just perfect.... Macaroni and potato salads homemade. Hot link spicy but not so spicy that you couldn't enjoy it. Tri tip sandwich stuffed with tender slices. Only 30 minutes from the house so yes we will be back. A must try for anyone who likes BBQ Read more

EXCELLENT FOR CATERING SMALL OR LARGE OCCASIONS! The owner of Smokey Pit BBQ always goes above & beyond to accommodate. They've... got excellent BBQ here, you'd have trouble finding something on the menu to complain about & the prices are excellent for theirquality of food. Highly recommended if you enjoy good, traditional BBQ. Read more

Hands down the best BBQ place in the area. Small family business ran by a man who cares about his work. It's a small hole in the... wall with little to no curb appeal besides a large star sign above the door. The food was absolutely delicious and the servingsare more than fair. He smokes and cooks his meat outside their front door in a smoker that fills the air with a wonderful smell. The pulled pork is my favorite dish with soft and a tender pork mouthful. It goes along with two sides. He brings your food toyou and keeps each portion separate using plates that have their own compartments. We will continue coming here every time weare in the area. His food is great and so is his attitude. Customer service was great. The building is small and there are onlya few tables, even a few outside. But it's a diamond in the rough right off of the freeway! Stop by often! Read more

This is a fairly small establishment. You order at the counter and then take a seat. The place sits about 20 plus a few seats... outside. The staff was nice and the food was good but nothing to write home about. I ordered the 3 meat combo and it was toomuch food. If you don't want your meat smothered in sauce then ask for it on the side. There is only one BBQ sauce choice orketchup. I'd eat here again. Read more
