Real bummer. I should have suspected something when the guy with the man bun raced my family and I to get down the stairs, that... this wouldn't be a good visit. We got seated, got water and that was the end of it. People that came in after us had their ordertaken. The gal working was walking around but never asked us if we wanted appetizers, much less our meal. With a family of 5 andeveryone hungry and the prices are what they are, we decided to take our business elsewhere. We had heard good things but it'sreal doubtful we will try that again. Read more

We've been to several other Strings restaurants in the Sacramento area. This caused us to be hesitant to try this restaurant in... auburn. Glad we did. The God was good and the service was prompt. Very nice experience. That doesn't happen very oftenanymore. Read more

First visit, ordered the bruschetta. Took 20 minutes to arrive. Menu read pesto and garlic bread, not a speck of pesto on it... (thankfully, the server offered to add the capers). As you can see by the picture, toppings were separate and I had to build mymeal. It fell apart every time I took a bite; had to keep adding topping - too much work after a long day. No olives (???), nooil to drizzle over the bread. I've been to Italy; this place is the McDonald's version of Italian food. Will I go back? NOWAY. Read more

We stop by for lunch, while driving through Auburn and I have to say it was an amazing experience. I love how well price their... menu was. The waitress was super friendly and welcoming, she made sure we always had our drinks topped, she constantly checkedon us and other customers around us. The menu was very appealing and the food came out delicious. The whole restaurant was cleanand so were the restrooms. We're very pleased and will definitely come back to try out other food on the menu!!! Read more

I ordered the artichoke ravioli after seeing a picture from another review (pic included) and what I got was not at all the... same.(pic included) The one I received was obviously canned sauce only and the taste was alright, but nothing to brag about. Edible but not enjoyable. Read more

I feel so bad having to give this place one star but after much deliberation it is only appropriate. The ambiance was to be... expected for a plaza type restaurant. Someone must have forgotten to pay the light bill for the portion of the establishmentleading to the bathrooms. The salad was rancid, and when do Italians add raisins (+sunflower seeds). I should add I did not seeany Italians working or cooking ???? The soup alleged to be minestrone was bland. The bread was dry & past its shelf life. I?mmost certain that the ?chicken? and perhaps most of the food was of low frozen quality. My girlfriend had to take a napkin toeach bite of the lasagna for degreasing. The best thing going was the ice tea! ???? Service was actually decent but who cares ifthe food isn?t very edible ???? I hope they get it together because The Strings Cafe in the Central Valley is bomb.com???? Read more

My friend & I hadn't been to the Strings restaurant in Auburn, CA, for a number of years since a birthday gathering,... (pre-pandemic.) All the staff we encountered were wearing their face-masks, there was plexi-glass installed surrounding thefront counter / register-area, & there seemed to be more space between tables compared to pre-pandemic norms. We had anexcellent waiter who was very friendly & polite, he helped give meal suggestions, & was attentive during our visit. We bothordered delicious pasta dishes, side salads, ice water, & desserts. We had asked if we could sample the 2 different in-housesalad dressings with a bread basket. Although the regular house dressing was tasty, I wasn't a fan of the strong vinegar base,so I opted for the creamy garlic cucumber which was not only great on my salad, but it was also an excellent bread dip! Saladwas tasty & I enjoyed the added sunflower-seed topper. Their basket of bread was served warm with triangles of soft bread thatwere wonderful to snack on as-is as well as Dipped in our side-cup of requested creamy cucumber-garlic dressing. My main dishwas breaded chicken topped with Angel-hair pasta, melted cheese, diced tomatoes, & freshly grated parmesan. It did notdisappoint & was quite tasty. We both boxed-up half of our main-dish orders so we would have room for dessert--and it tastedeven better as left-overs the next day. I was hoping to get a chocolate dessert with ice cream to cool-off from the hotweather. I selected a half-order of the brownie lasagna. Although it was amazing--the half-order was definitely a dessertbest-shared with a friend because it was so big! It was more like a brownie sandwhich with vanilla bean ice cream, topped withwhipped cream, drizzled with chocolate & caramel, & sprinkled with fun edible confetti. Totally rich, indulgent, & a perfectchoice on a hot day! The only negative thing about our visit was they only had one available toilet-stall in the ladies-room.(The second Read more
