I called to get an order before close. The employees on the phone told me i could order in the store but cannot place an order... for pickup over the phone. I said well it?s 10 minutes to close, she said i must order in the store. I drove all the way to theshop and they told me they were closed as soon as i arrived. I was there before the scheduled closing. I asked why i could notorder as i made it there during the time of advertised operations. The employee looked at me and said ?we are closed? with arude and fake smile. When i said ?but i called on the phone to make sure you were open? she repeated ?dude we?re closed? I ordered my food about an hour prior to picking it up as I understand how frustrating online ordering can be as a cook myself,... while there I waited for the three people dining in to get their orders respectfully so the staff could focus on food. Whiledoing so I noticed a few food safety violations but you can gather that from other reviews about it as they're mostly correct.However one I would to point out is, line cooks don't really like to change gloves and it's very distracting to think what mayhave touched my meal. After the small amount of customers they were serving the lady near the cash register asked for my name Igave my name and what I ordered which was a burrito with Chicken, Queso, Chipotle, Cilantro Rice, and beans. The lady proceededto ask what my name is around 3 times, stares at me blankly and hands me my order without saying a word. I wished her a goodrest of her day with 0 response, honestly the rudest interaction I've had at a restaurant that isn't a chain restaurant. Theburrito itself was mediocre, the base components were solid like the tortilla it was good quality but there was almost no Quesoor Chipotle it was hardly noticable. The rice was sort of hard and didn't taste of cilantro. Chicken was the best part but itstill was mediocre at best. However, whoever rolled the burrito itself (disregarding the flavor) nailed it. So not only does this place have amazing food and a ton of gluten free/vegetarian options but there service is incredible!... That's all you really need to know but if you want a real story, buckle up... Last month I had planned a twenty person suprisebirthday party for my brother. We were not able to have a 30th party for him due to covid, so we planned to make his 31st extraspecial. The venue (that we all love and still do!) called me 3 hours before the party was supposed to start to tell me they hada Covid outbreak ...and needed to cancel to keep us all safe and healthy. We of course wouldn't be charged for the party beingcanceled but how were we going to host 20 people with less than 3 hours notice AND keep the change of plans a suprise? Alhough Iappreciate the restaurants actions it did leave me in an insane time crunch. Mesa Grande was my immediate thought fordelicious, allergy friendly food, that everyone loves and they cater! Miraculously the team member who took my panicked phonecall walked me through what to order and then contacted her manager to confirm the details. They made it happen! I ordered hardand soft shell tacos, chips with queso, guacamole, salad, and black beans. The Mesa Grande staff were able to get all the foodmade and loaded into my car in just 2.5 hours! This gave me enough time to grab party supplies, booze, dessert, and get to mymoms house to set up before guests and the birthday boy arrived. The party was a huge success ???? My brother was shocked! Theguests were well fed and happy. Mesa Grande saved the day. I cannot thank them enough or recommend them enough.
