This particular afternoon, my best friend and I went to Frog and Hen. She wanted Chicken and Waffles, but wanted to be... healthier. The waitress informed us that she could substitute rotisserie chicken instead. She also got a side of Mac nCheese. The special was suggested to me: Cinnamon Apple French Toast. I also ordered the Roasted Chicken Hash. It’s acombination of rotisserie chicken, potatoes, kale, and eggs. You know brunch wouldn’t be brunch without mimosas. I love thisplace. The food is good. The ambience is cute and down home. The food is fresh and always plated nicely. I meant to take pics ofthe food when it came out, but the food was so tasty and smelled so good. This is the fourth time I’ve been to Frog & Hen.From the salmon, rotisserie chicken, all the sides, the appetizers, drinks. Even the water was good! Don’t act like all wateris created equally. It is not! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s always packed, but I never have to waitlong. If you don’t want to wait, call it in and pick the food up in the drive-thru. I came here with my mother and my grandmother. We got sat right away. The atmosphere was amazing and calm. My grandmother really... enjoyed the older music that was playing. We started off with the fried mac n' cheese bites and deviled eggs. I myself am a bigfan of deviled eggs and found them to be very delicious and delightfully creamy. I ordered the sweet potato gnocchi and mymother and grandmother ordered the fish and chips. After our meal, my mother and I ordered a piece of key lime pie to share andtwo cups of Hello Honey coffee. Holy Cow!!! This place is so good!! First, I was welcomed by an amazing host who then seated me My server, Elliot, was... absolutely AMAZING!! He gave wonderful recommendations and was super helpful the entire time! Food arrived quick and hot Highlyrecommend the fried cheese bites and the BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwich! Everything was perfect! The Frog & Hen, well the name may be somewhat off putting. However don’t shy away from this little hidden gem. Our server... Riley was very polite helpful and responsive. We ordered the pimento cheese sampler which you can tell right away is made inhouse. Our brunch meals are as follows: Avocado Toast which was very surprising for me because the salad was fresh. Next was thewaffle and bacon plenty to eat there, traditional maple bacon flavor though out. Our last dish was the Good morning sand-which:consists of fried chicken, fried egg, lots of maple bacon, cheese. Came with a side of fries. The claim here is that everythingis sourced locally from farmers. That really does make it unique eating experience. We loved the atmosphere. One last edit theyoffer military discount! We had large group (13) and they normally do not take reservations but they were able to accommodate once the whole party... arrived. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and on their game. Food was great and some large portions. Only complaint isthat brunch is served from 10-3. Read more
I have frequented Frog & the Hen several times and have never been disappointed! This is one of my favorite places in the CSRA... to eat fresh salads and roasted or fried chicken. They also have some of the best salmon I have ever had. Love the sear on thesalmon which still keeps it nice and flaky. This time I had it on a salad but their salmon and grits is also one of my favoritedishes. I also normally get their Nashville hot chicken sandwich with Calabrian sauce (so yummy with a good amount of spice) onthe side and their amazing fresh cut fries but today I decided to try the Nashville hot wings which were also very good and nottoo spicy; just the right amount of spice and flavor. Their cucumber dill side salad is also a must try. You can also never gowrong with their half roasted chicken plates that come with 2 sides and a variety of dipping sauces to choose from. They alsohave brunch on the weekends which is very good as they also offer bottomless mimosas. The service and restaurant ambiance isgreat! They have outdoor patio seating with umbrellas and sell wine, sauces, sides and amazing cookies and cinnamon rolls togo. This is a must try establishment that will keep you coming back for more. First time visiting this surprisingly good restaurant, their menu is ample and offers a variety of dishes for breakfast, brunch,... and all day dining. Cristina, our server, was very attentive and gave us extremely good information that made it very easy toselect what we wanted. The food was delicious, every single item was really good especially the roasted chicken withchimichurri, the grits were also awesome. The prices were very decent, a real good value for the money .
