Having read all the reviews stating "it's the best BBQ in the US", I was expecting a truly delicious culinary experience...... Unfortunately not. The food was pretty much average. Maybe my expectations were too high? I had the chopped BBQ brisket, whichcame with "hash" (give that a skip...) they only had 3 BBQ sauces. The restaurant decor is beautiful. If you come, come for howbeautiful it is, and expect average food, then you'll probably enjoy it more than I did. Read more
We really liked everything. Ribs were our favorite! We are from the midwest and hash has been weird for us since moving here... over a year ago. ...I have to say Sconyers has the best hash. They turned us. Definitely will be back. Read more
I?d give it a 4.5. Meat was great. Staff super friendly and helpful. The hash was interesting, something I?ve never had before.... The 3 BBQ sauces were good. But they don?t do desserts (no peach cobbler). Read more
Best BBQ in the state of GA! Great smoked meats, proper hash and rice, a folksy log cabin interior, and the best BBQ sauce I've... ever had, bar none. Seriously, this sauce should be sold in stores. Not to mention the prestige of serving the white house.Where else will you find generational excellence in low 'n slow smoking. I drive 2 hours to get here, excitedly. My grandparents loved this place and I remember coming here as a kid, not truly able to appreciate the delicious BBQ. I was just... down in Augusta for my grandparents funeral/memorial and our family thought it was only fitting to celebrate them by enjoying ameal at Sconyers. I went send and got the Plantation Platter and took it to the house. With the different sauces and all the BBQI was sufficiently stuffed by the time I left. The wait staff was excellent, great speedy service with a smile. I hope to goback some day to enjoy more of their delicious BBQ. Read more
So good!!! You could make a meal on their hash. I had the pulled pork dinner with an extra portion of the hash and it was more... than I could eat. I will definitely go back when I?m in town. Read more
Love the atmosphere and the place is rustic pretty. The food is good. As for a BBQ place, it doesn't really hit the mark. I'd go... back, try the turkey or ribs. The potato salad is good. I liked the hash with rice, even though I'm not really sure what it was- not really a hash. The pickles are bread & butter, and it comes with 2 slices of fresh potato bread. There isn't a vegetableon the menu. I posted 2 pictures, looking the same but one is the small bbq pork plate. It comes with no bbq sauce, you have achoice of mild or spicy. It was good, but I like Big Ed's BBQ. Shane's even (no atmosphere though). I'll go back if someonesuggests it, but I wouldn't drive out of my way. You can though, it is nice, you might love it.
