If you want a taste of BBQ I say definitely go and try it out. My husband and I came here for a late lunch. We saw the ambiance... inside very cute. We decided to sit outside in the sun which was really peaceful. Minus the country music, but that's a personalpreference. We ordered the sampler which came with the pulled pork, chicken, brisket, and the ribs. Two sides and a corn bread.On a sale from one to ten nothing surpassed a 3.5 to us except for the corn bread and the Mac & cheese. I also ordered a saladwith oil and vinegar as my side it was basically a plate of lettuce nothing special. Overall, I'd say give it a try but don'texpect anything like southern lovin'. Very kid friendly and it has gluten free and vegaterian options which is great. I think a2.5 would be more appropriate. It's not bad it's just not worth the price. I'd go back to try happy hour, but I think there arebetter places in Sussex County that offer better BBQ. Read more
Great BBQ spot ! Great decor and great BBQ , corn bread was awesome. At the table are 4 styles of sauce to top off the food,... and the bar area looks rustic and relaxed. Will definitely come back ! Read more
Yes ! Another Sussex Miners game with a nice pre-game lunch. We have heard about Double S smokehouse both in Warwick NY and... now here at the stadium. What an enjoyable atmosphere nods to the local rural area that we live in. Nice to see some props tothw bombers, but it would have been nice to see something for the Mets fans, and dare I say the Brooklyn Dodgers. We orderedthe onion rings and I had to try the wings. I also tried the sampler platter and the portion was a well balanced size. Thefood across the board was excellent, smoked to perfection, and seasoned to get to that spot that you want when have smokedmeats. Two down sides, as a bleu cheese fan, this sauce was less than stellar - avoid it next time. The wings stand on theirown for dry smoked and there are other sauces available, if you want to dip. Second, and this is tough when you live in a ruralarea in summer, a bit of a fly problem up at the bar area.... nothing egregious but know that they are there in the summer. Welive closer to the Warwick location and will be checking that spot out as well. Stay tuned. A nice experience at a great ballfield and worth it to stop over the fall and winter as well. Read more
Went to Double S Smokehouse for dinner tonight. The food was very good as usual, and the waitress and busboy could not have been... more pleasant and professional, but the good ends there. We ordered the "Add a Taste" half rack of ribs for $20, but when thecheck arrived, it was $34. We pointed out the overcharge and the owner said she would fix it and brought a new check and thecharge was $29. I pointed out the menu showed the price of $20, and she said the menu price doesn't matter. She said it could bea misprint and walked away. I folliwed her into the kitchen to explain we were overcharged $9.00 and that is wrong. She wasextremely nasty and rude for someone in the service industry. She called her husband to come out and he was just as unwilling tohelp, except to suggest we leave the restaurant, but contact the credit card company and dispute the charge so it can be settledthat way. I think he was afraid of his wife. They lost a semi regular customer. Not due to stealing the $9.00, but over therude and unprofessional behavior of the owners, not the staff, and the character of the owners. Read more
This establishment needs to be closed. Extremely poor food quality. After waiting 30 minutes to get our food, (we were the... sole diners in the entire place) each meat selection served was COLD. And I don't mean warm, I mean cold, which was worse thanit was tasteless. Smoked ribs were old and hard, tasteless pulled pork was soaked in grease, and the brisket....honest to God,it had the color of a brownie it was so old and hard. Either someone needs to start tasting what they are serving, or thisplace needs to cut their losses and close down. To be fair, we did address the food with server who promptly called the owner. Owner says you must pay for the meal you didn't (couldn't actually) eat but you get a free dessert. Why in the world would anyfoodie take a free dessert when the entrees were that poor. No thank you on any level for that poor gesture. What we wouldhave preferred is someone of authority try to eat that brisket or cold, oily week old pulled pork themselves in front of us.It's was literally the worst quality of food we have ever been served. State health needs to be called to check the freshness offood served and it's temperatures because an unsuspecting diner could get gravely ill from this restaurant. Read more
Great gluten free options clearly marked on the menu. Staff was friendly. Not too crowded with both indoor and outdoor seating.... Waitress did mention they're moving locations soon, but that the new location is close by. Highly recommend! Read more
We always stopped at the Double S diner after cutting our Christmas tree down. Too bad it is gone. So we decided to finally try... the Smokehouse. Food was very good. One burger was a bit undercooked. 1 out of 5 burgers we had. But the atmosphere and staffare great. Loved the large Mason jars for drinks. Server was very attentive and prompt. We had the smoked wings, Smokehouseburgers, Boss Hog burger, Mac attack burger and the BBQ burger. All very tasty and large portions. No one finished. Wife andkids loved the hot chocolate. Read more
So my family and I went to see the Christmas lights at the Skylands stadium and little did we know we would run into this... restaurant! Love the decor, very welcoming. Met the owner Eric and he was pleasant and funny. The food was great. I had the fishtacos and sliders. The #4 sauce was amazing! For desert had a serving of their apple roll they came in 5 triangle size. Theywere great! Loved everyone about the place. Read more
