So happy my boyfriend and I decided to try Annette for dinner last night! We were only in Denver for the night and our dinner... here was AMAZING! The location was cool, the restaurant itself had a great vibe and was exactly what we were looking for. Thestaff were also friendly and helpful. Each dish we tried was delicious, I’m convinced that their menu is stacked with amazingoptions, the dishes are all so well rounded with flavors you just want to savor each bite. 10/10 and we will definitely becoming back next year when we’re in town! FYI we had the deviled eggs (literally the best we’ve ever had), the butterlettuce & tarragon salad, roasted miatakes & kohlrabi, and the pork tenderloin. Read more
Congrats Chef on the James Beard award— well deserved! Nice space on the side of Stanley Marketplace. Everything we ordered... was tasty, don’t think you can go wrong at Annette. Love that the menu is geared around wood-fired cooking. Went with thedeviled eggs, kitchen sink kale salad, beef tongue, fries, whole fish, and pecan pie. We will be back! Overall, the food was great. We really enjoyed everything that we ate. The beef tongue was a highlight. Something that I feel... is worth mentioning was the 1.5 hour time limit put on us for dining. We had a reservation so I was not expecting such a shortamount of time to enjoy our meal. The food was brought out very quickly so it made it feel like we were being rushed out. I feelthis is inconsistent with the concept for the restaurant where the chef says, “When you dine at Annette, I’ll ask you thesame three simple thing that I ask of my friends at a dinner party: Sit. First time in; it was amazing. Had Escabeche Escarole Salad, House Spaghetti, and Beef Tongue with Bone Marrow. All richly... flavored and excellent. Modest sized, yet creative wine list but covered a broad range of tastes so easy to find somethingtasty. Great cocktails. Fun vibe. Service friendly and professional. Highly recommend. Will be back! Tried a half order (I absolutely love that this is an option here) of the butter lettuce, beef tongue and bone marrow toast, and... the pork schnitzel. While the beef tongue and toast wasn't up my alley, it was very tasty, as was the butter lettuce. The porkschnitzel was the best schnitzel I've ever had, it was an absolutely great price for 13.50 for the huge half order, which iswhat I have pictured. Everything I ordered was made with care, love, and attention to detail. My waitress and Matt at the bartook excellent care of me, gave great recommendations for not just things to try here, but other places to try in Denver, whichI really appreciated. While the menu concept and space is innovative it unfortunately does not deliver on the hype or price. Atmosphere: The space is... nice but very crowded and it made it difficult to hear the wait staff and our own dinner party. The chairs are small anduncomfortable. Drinks: Overpriced, cocktails are overly sweet Food: Mussels and the pork tenderloin were good but stilll onthe pricey side. $5 for a single "deviled egg" ? come on... They said it was a wood-fired concecpt and it did not come across inany of the food Staff: Friendly but they encouraged you to order everything and then the staff would pace.
