we came at this restaurant for our first time. Sherin was our server and she was absolutely amazing. She checked in regularly,... when we didn?t like our drink she didn?t charge us for it and got us something else instead. She went above and beyond to makesure we were satisfied. She checked in regularly,... when we didn?t like our drink she didn?t charge us for it and got us something else instead. She went above and beyond to makesure we were satisfied. I?ve been eating at different Symposiums for almost 10 years. Always made a point to know my local Symposium for breakfast. Sad... to say this is the Symposium I will never return to. I?m a breakfast person and tried many restaurants in my days. But over $50for breakfast, and $7 of that was for 2 regular coffees? You can put gourmet in front of anything. But that doesn?t change thebelow average coffee being served. Not to mention the service was comparable to McD. The server was new and clearly couldn?tcare less. She put down coffee and turned away without taking our order. Kept making me repeat everything I asked. And after Iasked for the bill, she just stood by the cash register and chatted with another server for 10mins. I had to wave her again forthe bill. BTW there were only 2 tables including us. This is my first time coming to this location. My waitress name was June and she was very friendly and easy to talk to. I am... very picky with my food and the kitchen nailed it completely. I asked for avocado toast but with scrambled egg. It was so good!!My husband had the southwest chicken Benedict and he loved it. It is on the new menu so if you haven't had it, I would for suretry it. June brought everything with a smile and was attentive and always had a smile on her face. The ambiance of Symposium is great (esp the patio!), however the food is just meh. Pictured below is the Cobb salad and an... omelette breakfast. The Cobb salad wasn?t even a real Cobb salad; it was just lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and one cold egg, withchicken that was saucy? very odd for a Cobb salad! Definitely wasn?t worth the $25 that?s for sure. My mum?s omelette was good,but wasn?t spectacular. The tomatoes were tasteless and the plate just looked sort of empty like it was missing something? Thecappuccino was good and the desserts/cakes are good, which I?ve had before. Also the French toast is pretty bomb? Servers arekind and service is quick. No waiting around which is nice. Would definitely come back here again (as I have a few times now),however I?d just be more selective as to what I order. Read more

Went into this place on a whim. Had to get some bloodwork done and wanted some refreshments with my partner. Came in about... 11:30am on a Thursday, so just before lunchtime. Wasn?t too busy. First thing we noticed is the beautiful artwork lining allthe walls and a server immediately came to greet us and seat us down. She was very patient with us, and we ordered tea andspinach dip to share. They checked on us to make sure the food was good. The spinach dip was nice and flavourful and mypartner enjoyed his peppermint tea. Overall a nice experience. Read more
