Hardly anyone there on a Saturday afternoon. World Cup. So they had a menu with only pizza and wings. That’s all. Probably ... expecting huge crowds. But it was 3/4 empty. And we still waited 40 minutes for wings. Which were…..like roast chicken withhot sauce squirted on top? Do they not have a deep fryer? It was just odd. Older couple working there. Man cooking. Ladyserving. “We just can’t find any help” she says. And later we see her getting into her Audi in the parking lot. Hmmm. Wewanted to like the place. But it’s just not up to it. Won’t go back. We visited this place for a light dinner and when we arrived around 6pm , I guess it’s still early so not too many ppl.... Therefore I didn’t need to wait too long for my food as other reviewer mentioned. We ordered the onion soup. The cheese ontop is not toasty at all as shown from my pic but despite that, it’s a really good tasty onion soup!! It’s very hot????(temperature hot) which is a must for me for onion soup! And also Very flavourful bowl of soup with real food taste. I amsurprised how good it is! Way better than the Keg one! If they toast the cheese on top longer and make it more toasty, it wouldhave been a Perfect bowl of onion soup and would be one of the best one in TO!!! We also ordered the burger with wedges. Thepatty is nice and thick and not dry! I do like the burger. But the wedges, it’s subpar unfortunately, abit too burnt anddry… Brussels sprout is ok, nothing particular standout but not a bad dish either! I need fibre in my diet anyway so this isperfect.. lol… All in all, this experience is a positive one and I will come back for the onion soup again for sure !! Had dinner with the family tonight. It was really busy and we were told upon arrival that they were short staffed and the food... may take a bit. But they promise it would be worth it, and boy did they deliver! The food was amazing.. the server, Tara, wasoutstanding and took very good care of us and our messy children, haha. We did wait about 20 minutes for appetizers and almostan hour for food, but we were told. And it was worth it.. it was only one guy in the kitchen and the place was packed. There wasonly one server, and she was amazing as well. We will definitely be back! Haven't had a home cooked meal like that from arestaurant in years.. I hope you guys get more staff because you guys were running around like crazy. Thank you for an amazingnight! Read more
I had the oven roasted Brussels sprouts and steak sandwich with Caesar salad side. Both dishes were delicious. I appreciate... nothing was over salted and everything was fresh. The steak in the steak sandwich was a whole steak and cooked to perfection. Itwas tender and not chewy at all! Not to mention the owner who kept checking on us to ensure our food was ok. The Brusselssprouts could be a little crispier, but overall a very satisfying “home made” meal. My companions also had their deliciousFrench onion soup that was made from scratch. They ordered their pizzas too that I was told was good, but nothing special. Sooverall I would recommend ordering their appetizers and mains if it’s your first time visiting. Read more
My husband and I have been to the Moody Cow recently three or four times. The owner is lovely and engages in conversation with... his patrons. He truly cares about preparing a good meal for his customers and that his customers enjoy a good experience at hisrestaurant. The food is excellent and well prepared. Never too salty and we always leave there feeling like we've just eaten ahome cooked meal. We discovered yesterday that there is also an outdoor patio and enjoyed sitting outdoors for a change. I andmy husband would highly recommend anyone that has not tried this establishment or is looking for a good meal and a friendlyrestaurant to visit to visit the Moody Cow on Bayview just north of Wellington St/Aurora Sdrd in Aurora. Came on a Wednesday afternoon when the restaurant wasn't busy for my first time. Food was great and and the staff was extremely... accommodating. We had ordered drinks that weren't on the menu and the staff had never made them before, but they googled therecipe and when they saw it contained a liquor they didn't have available, someone quite literally drove to the liquor store tobuy it and finish our drinks. We also had ordered 2 pizza with our own concoction of toppings and the pizza chef personally cameto our table to see how we would like the pizza to be prepared to ensure that we enjoyed our meals as much as possible. We had a great experience with both the friendly atmosphere and excellent food! We had several items off the appetizer menu and... shared amongst us. Every one was cooked to perfection and the taste was amazing! From the sliders, brussel sprouts, brie inpastry and the fresh and piping hot homemade bread! The servers were very friendly and the owner stopped by the table to ensurewe were satisfied. A nice touch to ensure all was good. We will definitely return to this gem of a restaurant! Read more
Nice, big space. Very family friendly and our family of four with young children felt comfortable there. Being at a pub, we were... looking for some bar grub (fries, wings) but didn't know that this bar doesn't have any fryers, everything is baked in theirstone (?) oven. Wish the menu had indicated that their wings weren't fried! Or else I would've never ordered baked wings. Itwasn't great, and neither were the baked potato wedges. We didn't order the pizza but I can imagine those are really good withtheir oven though. Just keep this in mind and you'll enjoy your meal. Edited: Owner is asking for clarification so here it is.They were not good baked wings. Skin wasn't crispy enough even for baked wings, Meat was dry and the honey garlic sauce on themeat just sat on the outside and the flavours didn't mesh at all.
