In from SA TX. We had to try Aviator Pizza based on goggle search and reviews. Wow. It was great. The pizza was fresh. Not to... thin and not to thick. It was perfect. We had the pepperoni basil, and the ground control. The ipa beer we tried was verygood. The place is simple but very relaxing. Friendly, and the staff was very attentive. This place has a lunch special and doesn?t advertise it, which makes it very sketchy that they?re just trying to suck more... money. Pizzas are higher priced than pinthouse, and the service is 20 times worse. Twice now we?ve had to walk back to thekitchen and ask if anyone is working outside. First timer at Aviator per suggestion of our pizza obsessed friend. The Flying Garlic was so fantastic!! Drool worthy. Crisp... crust, tons of toppings and good flavor. The 12? was plenty for two people. Dropped a star only because they were out oflettuces for salads and I have to try everyone?s Caesar salad. Great choice for a casual pizza meal. Large outdoor patio for when the weather is nice. We had a pepperoni and pineapple pizza.... Crust is a medium style- not deep dish but thicker than thin crust. Employees were friendly and everything looked clean. Read more

I'm new to Austin and will spend a few of my first weeks sampling local fare. Stopped by Aviator Pizza and Drafthouse cuz I had... a taste for pizza. This formulation is delicious: 4 cheese with chicken, beef, spinach, and mushrooms. The meats are seasonedperfectly, the cheeses blend very nicely. I give it a 4.8. The only reason this doesn't get a full 5 stars is I'm a crust personand the crust alone doesn't move me. The sauce, by itself, tastes like straight tomato paste. We picked a close pizza joint with beer close to Mckinney falls state park for an easy dinner. Aviator did not disappoint! 2... adults/2 girls and we all loved it. The girls loved the stubborn vanilla soda instead of traditional Coke options and the adultsloved the beer selection. The pizza dough was very good and "airy" and none were soaking in grease. Decent pizza, good turnaround time, interesting ingredients. Came here with a group of friends to grab some pizza and it had to... be boxed up as "to-go" orders since we were 15 mins from closing. It's an unusual policy but that was our bad for not doublechecking the closing time. The South Austin was a good pizza (arugula, honey, prosciutto) with a wrong ingredient (goatcheese) which really threw off the flavor profile. I love goat cheese and got this pizza specifically for that ingredient but itwasn't incorporated very well. Overall, the taste was ok. Draft drink selection was good and I'll definitely go again andadjust my review as needed. As a side note, this pizza reheats in the microwave VERY well and the dough remains soft withoutbecoming too chewy. Read more
