Good pizza for Austin standards. I?m from Italy and this is absolutely sellable back home. Only thing is the dough is a little... to thick for it to be considered truly Neapolitan style. The ingredients are good but the sausage was a little lacking. I cansee how they want to americanize it, but at the same time this is not legit Neapolitan. Super small spot but this place is for the foodies! Got the NY Americano style pizza but they recommended the Margarita one. It... was so good! I wish I could have tried all their pizzas! 100% get the meatballs! 110% get the meatballs, as I non meatball lover these are so soft, moist, phenomenal texture. The sauce... that covers them is spectacular paired with it. The pizza is different than anything I have ever had. The crust was delicious.The ingredients all were tasty. All this was $77 but we are in a really expensive city & downtown. You can probably skip thebutter thing. On the right we San Gennaro and the left is Capricisoa. And meatballs in front. I can?t stress enough to get themeatballs. Came to Desano?s for the second time since we enjoyed it so much the first time around. This time there was a small snafu but it... was quickly rectified. We ordered a Napoli, a medium, pizza which came out as a small. So they brought us a second small to makeup for the error. Unbeknownst to them, we had already ordered a second small because we thought the medium wouldn?t be filling.When they delivered the second small, they didn?t realize we had also ordered and paid for another pizza. The manager not onlygave us the Napoli we had paid for, he also comped us a cannoli dessert. Friendly, helpful, honest. Just good business sense anddelicious food to boot. A true late-night, NYC style, street pizzeria, in that it has a small, sidewalk presence and customer space, because, as in NYC,... downtown space is precious, and they choose to focus in the food preparation. This pizzeria offers Neopolitan style, wood-firedpizza. Ordering is simple, and the menu is focused on pizza products and salads. The prices are very appropriate to size andquality. Customer service is excellent and I actually enjoyed eating at a shared, window front table, late at night. Superb. Read more
So both me and my wife we are from Europe, pizza is kind of like a second dish for us. It is hard to find an authentic pizzeria... in the US so we were kind of skeptical about it on the first place. I?ve ordered a medium sized pizza and my wife got the smallone, they brought us both the same size and acknowledged their mistake and made me a new one. Dough is perfection, I?ve seenthey are using 00 flour which is a standard for real Italian style pizza. Ingredients were top notch quality as well. This is the place if you want authentic Italian pizza. You can watch your pizza being made including the dough tossing till... they cook it in their concrete oven. They have a fridge with bottles of wine, sodas and water to enjoy with your pizza. Can?twait to go back and try the other pizzas in their menu. Staff was superb! Read more
SO good! The sauce was so delicious and fresh and the crust was chewy but not doughy. I love that you can watch them put... together your pizza and see how fresh everything is. Seating is a little tight, so if you?re going with a large group you mayhave to cram. But overall the vibe was good and I would definitely come back! Read more
