There is so much potential here! The pork collar was cooked perfectly and the creamed corn is by far our favorite thing we had... that night. We had a reservation and had to wait thirty minutes to get seated. I understand they may have been a little shortstaffed, but the patio they had us wait at didn’t have any heaters. They also handed us a drink menu but didn’t come out totake an order while we waited, which they said they would do. My point is there were a lot of expectations that weren’t met,but the vibe of this place is really good and when the waitstaff did have time for us it was really good. Some final thoughts,I love tasting menus but the tasting menu offered for the night only consisted of heart dishes and the lack of variety was amiss for me. The dessert was good, and the wine selection has some fine offerings. I’d say give this place a try as maybe myexperience was just a fluke. Read more

My husband and I chose to have our wedding reception here and it was the best decision we could have made. The staff were so... accommodating and made the evening so special for us and our small group of friends and family. Ariana was amazing gettingeverything set up. They cut our wedding cake and saw to our every need and created such a celebratory atmosphere. We picked F+Dbecause we’ve been coming here for date nights for the past couple years and their menu(s) meant a lot to us since I’m avegetarian and my husband isn’t. It’s rare to find a place where there’s something exquisite for both of us, but F+D isalways a solid bet. This will always be such a special place for us! Read more

The food is great, and the people are even better. The intimate vibe of this restaurant is somewhat unmatched in Austin. We had... a great time sitting and chatting over a couple glasses of wine (happy hour ends at 6:30), and took our time working throughappetizers and entrees and a dessert. It’s a place that encourages lingering and savoring. We had a vegetarian in the groupwho was really pleased with the selection. All of the shared plates we had were delicious. (The popovers are in fact worth thehype). I would say this is an approachable menu with interesting flavor combinations that would be familiar if a little new tomost. I had the beef rigatoni and it was an amazing combination of your favorite fall stew and a great tomato pasta dish. Thedesserts were very shareable as well, with unique combinations made by people who understand how to balance sweetness andflavor. I’ll be back here for sure, especially for an appetizer and wine happy hour. Highly recommend this stop. Read more

Simply outstanding. Food was tremendous and service was top notch. One of the best happy hours around that combines delicious... unique starters and a solid list of drinks. The popovers and zeppolis are simply a must. To keep the food party going we allgot the tasting menu. I appreciate the kitchens attempt to showcase less known parts of an animal and they executedflawlessly. Stop reading this and just come here Read more

These chefs know what they are doing! I must return to try more dishes. As a starter I ordered the cheddar biscuits... I'm... still raving about them weeks later. As a main i selected the steak and eggs. Perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs, ultra tendersteak... Just blissful. To top it off, the rutamaya coffee with Mexican vanilla ice cream was the BEST coffee I've ever tasted. Read more

Kind people work here. Everyone knows the food is spectacular and the service is great but I’ll go a step beyond and say... these people are kind and genuinely want to make sure you are welcome and enjoy your time and meal. As a solo diner they offereda 2 top when my counter reservation was still occupied. While I waited outside they brought me water and chatted for a minute.I’d come back for the food but I look forward to returning just to be treated as warmly. Read more

Such an amazing experience. Food is one of the best in Austin. You really can't go wrong but popovers, fish and the duck fat... potatoes were so flippin good. This is my 3rd or 4th time and it's amazing each time. Make a reservation for sure. The couple infront of us at the desk were given at 2 hour wait. A+++++ Read more
