It was a slow lunch crowd but overall the food and service are good to go. I ordered a flounder basket and calamari appetizer.... Calamari is solid. Flounder basket one whole filet was actually just breading didn't mention it since I knew I'd have tons leftover. I'd definitely come back to try a boil! Read more

Excellent seafood experience! Kid friendly menu items as well as boils, fried seafood and cute named adult beverages. We went on... Wednesday night, not very crowded, perfect for family of seven with three small children. Helpful and attentive staff. The ownercame and asked if everything was okay! Definitely going again. A hidden secret in plain sight! Read more

Absolutely delicious. We went big and got the combo boil. Very expensive but worth it! Everything was cooked to perfection and... the spice was just right. I got the mild and my husband got spicy. I definitely preferred the mild! So so good! Read more

First off, I?d go back. I got a Rita, crab fries and 2 crab clusters in Cajun spices (spicy) with 2 potatoes and a corn. The... spices are fantastic! I wanted to eat them by themselves. I was not impressed with the $10 crab fries. Something about friesand crab don?t work for me and the dipping sauce was way too sweet. The Rita was actually really good too, I didn?t expectthat. Potatoes were lovely and the corn was way over cooked and mushy. I do feel like it?s a bit pricy for what you get andthe wait staff is sketch. I did love that crab bag though and next time I?ll skip the fries. Read more

The food was good but the sauce was the highlight of the meal. Usually, I joke that you can't get full off of shellfish, but I... spent $50ish for the lobster/snowcrab/shrimp/crawfish boil and certainly got full. I'd definitely eat here again, but theservice was questionable. The hostess was not a great host. She was impolite and it took her 10 minutes to seat us although wewent at a slow time with plenty of empty tables. They've got an issue with staffing. There were 9 waiters, 1 hostess, and abartender on the floor, and abt 60 patrons on the Sunday afternoon I went, but the service was slow. The hostess seemedoverwhelmed and there were several waiters who i observed to be "standing around." With so many empty tables, i wondered whynone of the other "free" waiters took the initiative to seat the patrons at the door. Once we received our food, the waitressattended to us every 5 minutes or so, which felt like overkill, but we appreciated her attention. I really liked the food, theambiance, and the prices, but when there are local seafood options popping up, I'd expect better service from the vibe they werelooking to establish. I wrote a real review because I loved the food, but the service was a deal-breaker. Ex. There was apuddle of water sitting. Nobody mopped it up. After about 1.5 hrs, one of the employees removed the wet floor sign, but therewas still a huge puddle of water. Plus, the floors were so nasty! The sun shining though the windows showed just how nasty thefloor was. The floor wasn't even sticky. It was just wet. Read more

New ! New! New! Hook n Reel restaurant in Austin , I must say very inviting and friendly greeted by one of the managers and... seated. The restaurant is very clean and put together it has dim lighting and big wall seafood decor of crabs ???? shrimp ????and sharks ?????. The bar is a wrap around with seating all the way around. Started off with some complementary puff chips withseasoning ???? I must say they were a bit on the salty side but I did eat them. The waitress was nice and gave her name was goodabout explaining the menu . I stared off with a order of calamari for my appetizer, it looked crispy on the outside but tastedunder cooked I tried a few more bite and they were all the same it also needed more spice . The entrees arrived in a timelymanner hot in temperature and well portioned . My mom ordered the catfish basket and added 3 fried shrimp because they don?toffer combo baskets and instead of fries she had to up-charge again and get a cup of clam chowder what started as a $12 basketturned into $ 20 basket, the clam chowder was a bit sour and returned it , however the catfish was so tender and juicy on theinside and crispy on the outside has a very good flavor and plump we both enjoyed it very much. I ordered the seafood broil gothead on shrimp, 2 clusters of crab , and crawfish came with potatoes and corn I added 2 boiled eggs and spicy hook n reel saucewhich I highly recommend it?s a mix of all the flavors they have mind you this is a step by step order you are allowed to pick1,2,3 steps to complete your bag this is also great for sharing depending on your appetite. They bring out a bucket with all themust needs to open crack and enjoy your bag it?s steaming hot as it comes out they shake shake shake it up for you so all thefood gets coated with the sauce it?s been a long time since I?ve had a broil that tasteful I loved it ???? the crawfish was agood size the crabs were full of meat and good flavor the shrimp ???? was huge but that hook n reel Read more
