Had the best experience at this Jason?s Deli this past Monday, out of all the Austin area locations. I usually go to the... Arboretum location cause I?m closer but the staff here is amazing, the cashier was extremely friendly. I got my food as soon asI sat down, and my order was exactly how I wanted it. It is very easy to order here. My meal was made perfectly. It was prepared quickly and delivered to my table faster than I... expected. The food was very fresh; soft bread and muffins; crisp lettuce. This is the only Jason's Deli I have ever visited. Honestly, I've missed not being able to chow down on a great Reuben sandwich... or a hot pastrami stacked several inches high on crusty grilled rye bread ever since Katz' Deli closed down on 6th Street yearsago. My yearning has now been quenched. The New York Yankee sandwich is the best of both worlds. Almost bigger than my mouth canopen for, it's a mammoth of a sandwich with piles of thin sliced corned beef, pastrami and swiss cheese on grilled rye bread. I had a good experience. My sandwich was prepared well and my chips weren't all broken up. Sometimes, you get a sandwich and opt... for the chips, and the chips look like they came from the bottom of a 2 year old bag... All broken up and crusty. Not here. I got the corned beef rueban, and it was wonderful! The rye/pumpernickel swirl bread was fresh and flavorful, the meat well... seasoned, the kraut not overpowering, and the sandwich as a whole was quite large and fully satisfying. My only problem: Ididn't get a pickle with my sandwich! The meal I got did come with deli chips, but was also supposed to come with a pickle,which was sadly missing. Overall, I still have to give 5 stars because this was the beat rueban I have had that wasn't homemade. Read more
