Wow ! This place is fabulous. Casual atmosphere with delicious food. On Wednesday they have a daily special that reflects... prices from 1981 when they opened. I had the burrito and it was so good. I also tried the Barbacoa available on Fridays andSaturdays and I highly recommend it. The Margarita's are Meh and I won't have another one. They are doing very well. No evening service as of my post but running 7am to 2pm. They had a full parking lot and 12 cars in... the drive up when I went on a Sunday at 1pm. Tortilla soup and 2 pico de guio puffy tacos were spot on! They came out fast andhot. The staff was great. No wonder San Antonio is the over weight capital of the world. Not only is the food DELICIOUS, but the STAFF is AMAZING!! An hour and a half away from home w/a nail in our tire and they... closed at 2, we walked in at 2:10 & they completely catered to us! Brought us water before we ordered and then were soaccommodating. It's so hard to find kind places these days and we found our new favorite place even when we're not in despair!!Thank you Lad Palapas!! Ps. The margaritas are GREAT!!!! Read more
BEWARE of all the 5 star reviews here that were done well before the restaurant opened on August 17-18, 2022. Giving high marks... on a restaurant chain for a specific location not even opened is not at all helpful. We ate in on their first full day open.Hostess and waiters were extremely friendly. They were very busy and apologized several times for being a bit overwhelmed by thecrowds being so newly trained and opened; very understandable. Food was good, but plates need to be warmer before plating so thefood doesn't cool down so quickly. Biggest complaint was the cheese used in the cheese enchiladas. It was stringy and rubberyto chew. Flavor was good, but we didn't like the rubber, stringy texture. Pick a better blend of cheese with a better melttexture. Otherwise, we'll give this restaurant another try as they get more settled in. Read more
They are really new and still have several kinks to work out. Wait staff wasn't very knowledgeable of items on the menu and some... of the food was not very hot. These are things that I'm sure will be corrected after they've been open a while. I willdefinitely be back to see if things have progressed. Besides the kinks the food was amazing and everyone was so nice andpleasant! The Tortilla Soup was my favorite! Read more
Service was great, at first. However, towards the end of our meal my drink sat empty. We did not get checked on and wanted... deserts. No drink and no desert ???? maybe it was a fluke? I will try again and update my review accordingly. Read more
