The last time I was inside this building it was a Cajun restaurant. They have redone the interior and now it’s a beautiful,... high end bar and restaurant. The waitstaff was attentive, and the food was perfectly prepared. My husband and I weren’t veryhungry so we split the branzino entree and it was amazing. I had a lovely Chardonnay and Mike had Bob Dylan’s old fashioned…both were delicious.. Highly recommend! Read more
Website says opens at 4. They are actually opening for lunch now. Ambiance. Friendly competent staff. Beautiful. Great food.... Great music. A chef's table. A bakery attached with fabulous baked goods. The waitress was fantastic. Night brings even moreambiance white table cloths - fireplaces -makes this a great date night place. Full bar. Wonderful, spectacular, near perfect. All I can say is that you get what you pay for. This place used to be a Cajun restaurant... and it was good. We have waited for a while to try Plate, and are destined to make it our special going out destination. Westarted with the crab stack appetizer and it’s was very good. Fresh crab atop guacamole, mango dices on top with taro chips.Fresh and delicious. We both had the Tenderloin Rossini and it was out of this world. 60 years of eating top notch steaks andthis was among the best cuts I’ve ever had. Buttery and perfectly grilled, the Demi glaze and mushrooms were amazing. This isthe best place for steak we have tried in the Austin area. Atmosphere is chill but elegant. Nice relaxing atmosphere during lunch today. The food was really good. I had a half club BLT served on Brioche bread and a... Caesar Salad, both were delicious. A friend had the Barbara salad that was very refreshing for summertime with grilled chickenlots of fresh fruit, avocado, cucumber, feta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. It was very tasty. Another friend had a cup ofvegetable soup that was good but a little too salty. He also had the tuna salad sandwich and it was delicious. We’ve been fordinner before and the food was outstanding. The only drawback was that the music was a little too loud. Also, the entrees are alittle pricey but because the food was delicious, it was acceptable. The atmosphere is cozy. The tables and chairs in the maindining room are very comfy. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. Overall, we really liked the place and are lookingforward to coming back. Read more

I found this place a bit by accident, but I'm glad I did. There food has all been terrific. Oddly, they've been out of things... both times I've been there even though I was having dinner early in the evening. What's odd is their menu changes frequently,so you'd think they'd have time to remove things not available from their menu. Additionally, once the bar had my preferred rumand the other time they did not. No matter. The food they did have more than made up for any issues. Looking for to dininghere again soon. Read more
This place used to be amazing and our "go to" for an early dinner after work on Friday night. We would eat at the bar. The... service was great and the food was amazing. I've tried it a few times recently and I think I'm done. The food quality isprobably the same or would be if we actually received it when it was still hot. I couldn't tell you because the service has beenawful. The bartenders (there are 2 for a relatively small bar) don't seem to have the desire to interact with customers. Thisisn't a capacity issue. I've only visited early in the evening before the prime dinner crowd arrived. I did raise the issuewith the manager after my last visit. He was very apologetic and asked to make it right which I appreciate. I just don't knowwhat the upside would be to sit/eat at a bar where the bartenders clearly don't like interacting with people would be. Perhapsthe service is better if you are seated in the restaurant. Or perhaps they are trying to discourage customers from drinking andeating at the bar. Hard to say. Read more
