Visited for the 1st time, ordered boneless strip basket as per my buddy's recommendation. Got 2 Vampire something and 2... Gochujang w side salad (for an upcharge) instead of waffle fries or tater-tots or mac n cheese. Both flavors Bruce I havechicken strips I have 3 flames out of 4 but we're not spicy at all all. Ok flavor on the on the gochujang, but vampire onesdidn?t have anything stand out. The strips are huge, but have a thicker breading than I would like. Found myself trying to takeoff breading in order to continue eating.. The salad was really wimpy and not worth whatever up charge they are charging for it.It is on the menu for $5. Next time I will try the bone in wings. Currently not impressed after hearing so many good thingsabout this place. Read more
Terrible customer service. Employees are unaware of the policies. The manager on site supports their lack of knowledge and feels... that it is better for the customer to know more than who they hired. Food came out 45 minutes after ordering! The managerbecame argumentative and stated that his employee has a language barrier when we didn?t feel that at all. Read more
Honest and non angry review. Visited pluckers for the first time at research blvd around noon on June 9. Location was packed... with guests. Wait to seat was about 15 minutes, all servers super busy. We ordered chicken wings with fries and fried cheese.Fried cheese was super salty - had to turn it back and waited for chicken to arrive for 30 minutes or so. Chicken turned outtasteless , dry and feathers were sticking out. Moreover, I asked our server to replace the plates and silverware couple times,because it was dirty with fat or something? can?t complain about the server though, he was super busy and was nice and politeand didn?t charge for cheese. Long wait. Best to check in on Yelp to avoid waiting 1-2 hours for seating. The staff is always attentive and friendly but the... wait is always always terrible. Even with checking in on Yelp, the table we were eventually seated-to was sitting empty for 20+minutes so I am not sure why we were even waiting that long. It's also VERY loud with all the sports on all the screens. So notquite the place if you're looking for a dinner with conversation; the staff really seemed to have the volume cranked uphigh. I've had pretty good service in the dining room, so that brings me back. The bar is hit or miss--but I realize sometimes they... have been busy focusing on drinks. That said, Pluckers serves a full menu at the bar, so they should always be ready forthat. The food has always been on target. Can't go wrong with any wing order order; I recommend the ranch rub. I also recommendthe Buffalo chicken salad--still get chicken with any sauce, but with a beautiful salad that includes cheese, bacon, tomatoes,cabbage, carrots. Regarding appetizers, my favorite is the fried pickles. So good! The problems with this restaurant are 1) it'sstarting to look rundown. Two notable things are the bathrooms are worn out and the floors are beat up. 2) the hostesses are notfriendly. Recently, for Monday Night Football, a friend and I visited Pluckers Wing Bar (Research Boulevard Location). It was busy on a... Monday night at 6pm and by the time we left, all of the bar seats were full for Monday Night Football. I had a coupon for 5Free Wings, which I had earned by attending a University of Texas basketball victory. To use the coupon, you must order atleast $2 of additional food, which was easy to do given all the menu options. My friend had the Teriyaki BBQ wings with wafflefries, and I had the Buffalo Hot wings with tater tots. I love the Buffalo Hot sauce; it literally sets my lips on fire, butthat is what I crave. The wings were hot, juicy and crispy - the perfect mixture for a chicken wing. Pluckers is definitely myfavorite wing spot in Austin - although I prefer the Pluckers on South Lamar or in West Campus in terms of location. Read more
Stopped in to meet up with a friend and catch a game. We sat at the bar because that's our preference, but they had plenty of... tables both regular and tall. My veggie sandwich was kinda bland , but still enjoyable and my friend had wings with hot sauce onthe side. Their hot sauce was super spicy and I like spicy haha. Their tater tots were on point!
