Unique menu with okay execution but great coffee! We got to try vegemite, which was very interesting. Cannot say I love it but... really happy that i got to try it. Lamb sandwich is probably more appropriately called a lamb burger. Lamb is cooked well butlacks flavor imo. The potatoes are fried perfectly though! Read more

I tried this place in Portland recently and had such a great fired chicken sandwich. Found out about the one in Austin and gave... it a go. Absolutely delicious and one of the best braised sandwiches i ever had. The slaw is perfect and the potatoes have agreat crisp to them. Can't wait to go back with more friends. Read more

Amazing roti and French toast! The French toast is unlike anything you?ve had. It?s well balanced between sweet and savory with... a little bias toward sweet. The potato chips add a nice crunch and salty zip to the bites. The pour over flight we had wasextensive and the pours were just a little too big for us. It was fun to try but I?ll just be getting a single type in thefuture. Fun spot, lively folks, and a bumping vibe. It looks like a fun place to work at. Give it a try, you won?t bedisappointed! The most beautifully (and professionally) designed restaurant I ever been to in Austin. With best pour over coffee menu, really... yummy food, and great service, you will have a great experience dining at Proud Mary. Nonetheless, parking is very inconvenientand not free. Read more

I really loved this place. Got a DELICIOUS pour over flight w the BBQ prawn and slow cooked lamb burger. Everything was... phenomenal , and cannot wait to come back. It is a little on the pricier side then we expected, BUT this feels like more of arestaurant than a coffee shop. We brought books and our laptop on a Sunday morning, and definitely did not end up pulling themout as they were insanely busy and it?s much more a restaurant vibe. Parking was easy, but have to pay. Pretty good spot. Very interested what becomes of it as they fine tune their offerings. Good: atmosphere coffee is... delicious Incredible coffee selection Unique foods Bad: Cannot bring dogs inside! (Change the google tag) Food isoverpriced Our experience was interesting, it shouldn?t be called ?Proud Mary Coffee? since you are taken care of the way youare at a restaurant: host takes you to table, order items and a server waits on you. So we walked in with backpacks and booksready to chill and work, but it?s not a coffee shop to do that at?. Host, asked if we could sit outside since we brought ourdog, and sat as us temporarily at another table where two people were already seated at until they got a table for twocleaned?.that was awkward. Ordered the Hot Chocolate French Toast?.which is really caramel. Should be called Caramel FrenchToast. Misnamed. Also ordered the BBQ Prawn Toast?which has nothing to do with BBQ and is mostly generic potato salad. The dishneeds more to justify the $18 price tag. And it was served in a bowl which made cutting the very hard toast difficult. Again, not a totally bad experience. Really enjoyed my cap. Aspen the waitress was very kind and hospitable. But still seems like theyneed to find their footing as a restaurant. Read more

Very excited for this addition to the Austin coffee scene. It is amazing, although not the experience I was expecting. I was... expecting a true coffee shop but this is more of a restaurant-type experience with full table service. We didn?t plan on havinga full brunch but we did. The coffee menu is emphasizes pour overs. (Is there anywhere else in Austin where they menu is builtaround pour overs?) If you?re looking for a long black, this is your place! I got a deluxe pour over which is a cool experiencewhere you get to smell the coffee before they make your pour over. It was amazing coffee. We also tried the drip which wasperfectly dialed in. The food is excellent. Potato hash was a full entree and was masterfully put together. At $18, it was morethan I planned on eating and spending but it was fully worth it. I?m not sure how Proud Mary will fit into my daily routinewith the way it?s setup as full service. You can of course get coffee to go but I?d only feel comfortable sitting at the bar orpatio and ordering just a coffee. But I?ll be back because the coffee is too good. Read more
