Ordered the meat and cheese board last Thursday, it was perfect for snacking while tasting wine. The presentation is beautiful... and served with crackers and jam. Looking forward to trying it again. Read more

BEST ITALIAN WE HAVE HAD OUTSIDE OF NYC! We had 3 different meals, antipasti (fruit, salami, cheese) and fries. Holy... mackerel!!!! It was so ridiculously good and large portions that we took home heated up and enjoyed as amazing leftovers! Dang. It was one of our best date nights in a long time. It?s part of a really cool self-serve wine bar and groovy warehouseatmosphere. We heard about this place from a waiter at Norma in Hell?s Kitchen. the waiter said his friend ran an excellentfood trailer in Austin and he is not kidding. This place is delicious!!! You will not regret it! Read more

It makes sense that this place is on SHADY lane. Negatives: The food was really not up to par and not worth the price. It looks... like some college kids were the only ones cooking and the person who a staff identified as the owner was just sitting in thetruck trailer doing nothing. Positive: despite being being very young and the only ones doing the cooking and taking orders, they were very nice. When I went back a second time (in case the first time was a fluke), the kid at the window says the otherguy left for lack of pay or something. That and the place is probably closing by the end of the year. Read more

A little bit difficult to find as it hides inside the bar, food is really yummy, just a little bit too expensive :)

Great pasta! All the pastas we ordered for the table were great. What?s best is you can pair the pasta with the wines on the tap... at the bar. And the wines are great. We went on a Thursday night and someone was playing the piano live - it was great too.Everything was perfect - if you like pasta and wine , and prefer a more causal experience, that?s the place to go. This is going to be a little long but worth it, so bare with me. My wife heard from a coworker that this place has the best... Italian food that he has had in a very long time. We tried it, we loved it, and we will be back!! She had the pasta w/meatballsand being that she is from NY, knows good Italian food and could not stop raving about it. The meatballs were so f'ing moist anddelicious and the pasta was perfectly cooked! I had the Pasta La Pugliese. The orecchiette was cooked to perfection, with aslight spicy heat from the sausage and balanced with the burrata cheese. Absolutely amazing! The traditional cannoli was aperfect ending to our meal. So creamy, crunchy and delicious! The owner (Vito) was an absolute delight to talk with and soincredibly personable. Please don't let the fact that this is a food truck keep you from trying this gem of a place! Austin isknown for having amazing food from our food truck communities. You won't be disappointed. Don't forget to indulge in winetasting/drinking at Wanderlust while you are waiting! Delizioso! Read more

If you live in Austin or ever find yourself visiting, you absolutely MUST stop by The Heel of the Boot for some of the most... delicious, authentic Italian food you will ever have. My friend and I were so so lucky to come across it during our trip toAustin about a month ago. The guys were so kind, and we felt very welcomed. The inside was so fun and comfortable. And theoutdoor patio seating is so pretty and has a view of the city. I ordered the pasta with pesto which was incredible. My friendordered pasta the heel of the boot and enjoyed it so much. The pasta had so much flavor and was so creamy. We also shared anorder of bruschetta which might have been the best bruschetta I?ve ever had. It was so fresh!! The portion size of the pasta wasperfect enough for us to take half of it home, and it tasted just as great later that evening as leftovers. We still to this daycannot stop thinking and talking about The Heel of the Boot and how wonderful it is. Best pasta ever and I am already planning atrip back so I can try more of the menu. PLEASE go and support this local small business - you won?t regret it!! Read more
