Nice ambiance, great service. I had a delicious bowl of acorn squash soup with toasted pepitos, crrspy Brussels sprouts in... apple glaze, and a smashed potato with sour cream, chedder cheese and scallions, along with a glass of Chardonnay (a genorouspour) for $45. Back at the W Austin for 4 days. Arrived today, so ate dinner at Trace. Had the Smoked Shrimp with TassoGrits, which was delicious (used my knife to get the last drop of grits -should have asked for a spoon), the always greatcharred Brussels Sprouts & Apple, and The Empress Strikes Back (or something similar), a tasty libation with gin, lemon syrup, cucumber, & orange tonic. Great spot for a quiet dinner. Shared a few small plates. Definitely recommend the short rib mac and the brussel sprouts. Would... skip the crab dip as it was nothing special. Really good cocktails as well. Read more

Management need to do a better job to ensure adequate staffing. Arrived at 9:30 for breakfast to be left waiting over 15 minutes... before being seated. A couple who came in after me were seated first. It wasn’t until 5 minutes later that I was attended to.Table outside had complained about waiting 20 minutes for 2 mimosas. All this despite the restaurant only being maybe 1/3 full.2 waitstaff to cover the floor, bar, and host/ess duties is not good enough. Read more

I was out in Austin for business and went here with a business partner. The food was amazing. Had a live band which wasn't... overpowering so we could still discuss business. Great cocktail options. Decor was awesome and really liked the inside/outsideconcept. If I'm ever back in Austin, will for sure eat here again. Read more

The food was delicious! We sat outside on the patio and it was nice and secluded. The waiters and waitresses were all very... attentive and friendly! I had the lobster grilled cheese and it was amazing. The atmosphere was fun. I will say it’s kind ofhard to find parking but that’s anywhere downtown. I would come back! Read more

I expected more. It's a cute looking place, but unfortunately on the side of the 2nd street at the moment infested with the... homeless, so watch out for that (the city should really do more to help them instead of just moving them around!!!). Decor ismodern elegant but cosy at the same time; cheap mimosa ($5 for carafe) but quite watered-down. The food is less than mediocre;my overpriced fried chicken waffles ($20!) were so under-seasoned (no salt, minimum honey in the batter itself). It basicallywas a chicken steak not fried chicken. In addition, the batter split (see the picture) which means it was either battered, frozen, defrosted, and then fried, or they just don't know how to fry. The want to season the dish with a way too spicy for mesauce (vinegar based) which I didn't care for and the whole thing was thus blunt. It tastes like the chef has some ideas but theexecution is subpar. I suggest ginger and lemon zest for the seasoning of the fried chicken (and marinade it!). My husband'smigas was OK, but nothing amazing either; the potatoes were the best thing we ate there which isn't too good. They have goodcoffee but expensive ($5 for a single espresso!). The whole experience was quite expensive at $67 and not an amazing culinaryexperience. We won't be going back. Read more
