Moved to Austin after living in Florida for twenty years. Needed some Cuban food, lots of places around here calling the... restaurant Cuban. When you get there, it's Mexican. Favorite place for Cuban food in Austin. I?ve been looking for a place here with Cuban food like my hometown Miami. I?ve tried... Cuba512 (not great), Habana (it?s okay), and Chicho?s (REALLY good, was my favorite before Tropicana, but it?s all the way inPflugerville). Tropicana is by far the best Cuban food in Austin. The bistec de palomilla was top notch. Jugo de naranja naturaland delicious mojitos. They also have imported drinks (Jupiña, iron beer, Materva, and Malta) AND batidos (guayaba, mamey,papaya, and others). We ordered pastelitos to go, which were also delicious. We?ll be back for sure!
