Four of us had an amazing meal. It is BYOB so bring your favorite beverage. You won’t be disappointed. We enjoyed every course... served from the initial tasting plate through to the desert course. This is a must-do dining event while at the shore. There is nothing like it in Avalon or anywhere in the South Jersey beaches. ... We felt like we were transported to paradise. Please make a reservation in advance. What an incredible menu and excellentservice. The staff went above and beyond to curate a true dining experience. Locally sourced food and the owner came up to uspersonally to check in on us. We went at 7:45 and requested the outdoor deck to be at dusk in June and have amazing views of thebeach backlit by the sunset. Read more

From start to finish, one of the best meals I've ever had. The restaurant is on the right hand side of boardwalk (ample free... parking in a large lot out front - a rarity on the island) and has a nondescript exterior. The interior is lovely with seatinginside and outside. We sat on the patio where the tables overlook the dunes with unobstructed views to the ocean. It's BYOB andwe brought a bottle of white to go with the seafood. The service and atmosphere were excellent and the food was exceptional!!!Our server explained the ingredients are sourced from local vendors and farms so the menu changes regularly - you can taste howfresh everything is. It's a four course prix-fix menu. My two favorite dishes were the snap pea salad with whipped ricotta andthe Cape May Scallops. Not kidding - the best scallops I've ever had: perfectly cooked and seasoned! My husband loved the porkchop with homemade grits. We both loved the dessert board, especially the homemade lemon olive oil cake (yum!!!). Highlyrecommend this place for a wonderful night out overlooking the Jersey shore. Summer Salt is perhaps the best restaurant I have been to in Avalon. The menu is perfectly and thoughtfully crafted and prepared... by the chef and his team. Everything goes so nicely together and the flow/timing of the meal is excellent. The scallops weresome of the best I have ever had. The owners are also super nice and personable. They made it a point to make sure we enjoyedeverything and it felt like we were in their own home and they were cooking a meal just for our party. Summer Salt was beautiful. We sat in the covered patio with a 645 reversion so we ended the meal just after sunset. The staff we... very attentive. We went for the 85 per person prix fix. The food was the reason I only gave 4 stars. The starter veggie boardwas fine, but just had some veggies and two dips. Nothing special, no amazing new veggies. Tomatoes, cucumber, some nuts. Thenthe appetizer was the star of the evening, all four were delicious, but the peaches with burrata was just incredible. And hugeportions of all four dishes. The main course was split: my scallops were nicely cooked and tasty, but the crab pasta missed themark. It was watery, didn't have much flavor, burning hot, and needed salt. The desert donut things were very good and the cornice cream was super fun. It was a nice special occasion, but I would not go back for a 100 per person meal (after tip and BYOB). Read more
