Interesting food. We've tried a number of dishes, all good. Not too salty, fresh flavors. The wonton was a little weak.

Tried this place because the wife loves Shu in West Hartford, got some Dan Dan Noodles and Chengdu Dumplings. Noodles were ok,... dumplings were definitely un/undercooked pork. Already ate 3 of them before discovering they were raw so praying I don't getsick. Read more

The food here is just fantastic. Do not go in expecting americanized Chinese food here and please do not rate it negatively if... you make that mistake. This place has beautiful spice and flavor profiles that are unlike other cuisines. If you are unfamiliarwith Sichuan/Cantonese food go in with an open mind and enjoy, stick to the kung pao chicken and crispy chicken with garlicsauce as good beginner dishes. SHU is a Welcome addition to the Avon/Canton area! Thank you for opening! Read more

We had dry pot with chicken, and the salt and pepper jumbo shrimp. The chicken dish tasted like they had accidentally dumped in... the whole container of seasoning and was virtually inedible. The jumbo fried shrimp hadn?t even been peeled and was very overcooked. Both dished had far too much oil. My recommendation is to steer clear and find another place. You can get better foodfor way less at several other places near Avon. Read more

Delicious Sichuan food that is a great break from typical American-Chinese cuisine. Most food is at least a little spicy. Our... takeout of fried rice, black bean chicken, and gyoza was excellent. Will be ordering takeout again. Read more

I tried Shu Express for the first time tonight and it did not disappoint! Every dish I tried was super flavorful and delicious.... You can tell that everything is fresh and they put a lot of care into preparing their food. My only complaint is that I wishsome of the things I ordered were spicier. Highlights were the scallion pancakes and the Dan Dan noodles. It?s definitely becomemy go to local Chinese spot. I feel very lucky to have them so close by! Read more

Some acquaintances recommended SHU in West Hartford for really good authentic Chinese food. When I looked them up, I was... surprised to see that they have recently opened up an express location in Avon that carries just the most popular options. Thissaves me a lot of time in traffic as I don?t have to go over the mountain to get authentic Chinese food. There are a lot ofthings on their menu that I still have to try, but so far I highly recommend their Kung Pao Chicken, Fish Filet in Hot and SpicyBowl, and their dumplings and wontons. Their lunch specials are also really good, I like the fish filet in sauce and the KungPao Chicken specials so far. The twice cooked chicken was not bad, but they have better stuff on their menu in my opinion. Alsobe warned that the Chong Qing chicken is loaded with hot chili peppers. Definitely give them a try, today will be my 5th day ina row ordering from them. Read more
