Very nice time was had by our party of 8 at the Mad Cranberry in Avon, NC. We arrived by 5:30 and were seated quickly but... noticed that a wait line was beginning soon after. Our waitress was friendly and our food was good. My crabcake sandwich wastasty; not the best I've had but pretty good. The rest of our party enjoyed steamed spiced shrimp, crab dip, flounder sandwichand fried shrimp. All seemed satisfied with the quality. The place was crowded and loud but we still enjoyed our food and willmost likely return there. The family friendly and fun atmosphere was a hit. Read more

This is a nice place with a good beach atmosphere. The staff is friendly and quick on refills. We went during a super busy time.... The fries someone in our party got were really good. Now here are the reasons for 4 and not 5 stars. The food was good but notgreat. The shrimp was overcooked. The crab dip was good but there were 4 people in our party and the chips that came with thecrab dip were delicious but there were like 2 chips per person so half the dip was left because who wants to double dip? I stillwould have given 5 stars but we were seated at the tables up front and people at the bar kept bumping into our chairs. Thereneeds to be either a divider or no tables there.
