I was under a wrong impression that there was more than one item (other than appetizers) for vegetarians on the menu. this is an old style hotel that would benefit from a top-to-bottom refreshment. the building has good bones and the rooms are a... comfortable size. each room has a Keurig coffeemaker and a fridge stocked with cream and milk. the beds are firm and the beddingis sufficient, as are the amenities (shampoo and body wash). but. the first room had a toilet that was running, and mycomplaint was not warmly received, although we were offered another room. that was a large room with windows on Main Street,which is loud (ask for a back room if this bothers you). the sink was slow to drain and the bathtub needed refurbishing. thisis a social hub of Ayer's Cliff and the bar was lively. our server was friendly. Beautiful terrace with a variety of choices on the menu. Great balance of quality / price. Good service and quality food.
Not worth it - go somewhere else to eat. Such a disappointing meal. Ordered the scallops at 34$ which consisted of 4 small... scallops, 3 thumb sized wedges of potato, one super tiny sprig of broccoli, one thin slice of red pepper and 2 small slices ofsome other root vegetable. Smallest food serving I have ever had for that price, anywhere. It looked more like an appetizer thana main meal. In addition the food was bland and just boring. I was shocked. This restaurant has gone so far downhill. Iexpressed my disappointment to the server and could tell they felt bad. This was obviously not the first time they have heardcomplaints about the food. I have enjoyed my visits to Cliff House over the years but me and my husband will not be going back.Seriously, such a bad dining experience. What has happened to this place? Read more
This place is such a wonderful gem and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great time, great food and also an... unforgettable atmosphere ! There is live music in the restaurant garden on Saturdays which adds to the vibrant ambiance and thestaff was very attentionate. We are definitely coming back here soon ! Read more

The restaurant wasn't on its game. The host was reluctant to speak English and wasn't very friendly. Our waitress was sweet but... not attentive and forgot to order one of the kids' meals. The food was average and the bill felt very high, especiallyconsidering the above. On a positive note the terrace is lovely and was surrounded by flowers. A nice spot for an afternoondrink. Read more
