This was the worst seafood I have ever eaten, or should I say ordered because most was not edible. The "shrimp scampi" was just... shrimp cooked on a dirty grill and that's what it tasted like. We also ordered fried pickles which we never got, even afterwaiting for over an hour and a half. Read more
This was our first and last time visiting this restaurant. The star is for our waitress. She was doing the best with what she... had and she was wonderful. I wish I caught her name. All I know is she was a Hispanic woman probably in her early 30?s. Therewas another employee who randomly came up to our table when we first got our apps. She creeped us out a bit. She just stoodthere in silence and the asked if we were okay. She was going around to each table but it was strange the way she did it. Shehad hickies all over her neck. Salt. The restaurant should be called salt. Because that?s all we could taste. It was so overpowering. Our fried pickles didn?t have any taste of pickles just crunchy salt. Same with the fish. It had a nice crisp to itbut the salt was over powering. We couldn?t finish anything. And my husband who can normally put down anything, couldn?t finishhis. We basically left full plates and appetizers. We spent $50+ dollars and it was wasted because the amount of salt. The only thing that tasted good was the salad bar. We had the fish which was bad tasting! Plus the hush puppies and fries, fish... all tasted the same, they must fry it all in the same oil. No seasonings on anything! Bland, bland, bland. Would not recommendit! Read more
First time here in years. Salad bar was awesome. Beans were great. Ordered 9 Butterflied Shrimp with fries. they were really... chewy. General Manager came over and was the best. She took them back and let me reorder . Poorboy with chicken fried steak wasoff the charts and i was really happy. Thank you very much . ill be back because of you . You deserve a raise Maam. Terrible now. Used to be a great place to dine in or take out. Went to get to go today and it was terrible. Smaller portions and... the salad bar was terrible. The container for the salad bar was smaller and they wanted to charge me extra for the coleslaw...Iunderstand the price went up but...if you want to go up on the price the food should be just as good. Finally tried this place about two weeks ago and will definitely be returning! The salad bar was great. They have some of the... best beans I've ever had. My main dish, a fried catfish and shrimp combo, was some of the best fried seafood I've ever had. Thebreading was awesome and the food was super fresh. The only thing that wasn't to my liking was the potato salad, but my friendloved it. In addition to the great food, the waitress was super helpful. We came right before the dinner rush and I think shewas the only waitress for the entire restaurant at that time, but she was super attentive even though she had to have been crazybusy. 5 stars; definitely recommend. We have frequented this restaurant for several years and have found then to be consistent in service, value and food quality,... until today. While the salad bar and hot pinto beans remained unchanged, the fish and hush puppies were not up to usualstandards. I found the fish to be too salty and the hushpuppies were doughy and simply not very tasty. The service wasacceptable, though a bit slow. Though we will likely return, as it is convenient,it will probably be less frequent. Read more
