Had a family day at Hodels to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. Breakfast Food: Selection was okay. Buffet style. There... was the traditional scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon. Biscuit and gravy I am not a fan, but the biscuit was fluffy. Theyoffer waffles however get ready to stand in line. They only have two waffle makers so there is a bit of a wait. ??A must try in Bakersfield!!!! This is REAL COUNTRY GOURMET. I feel like it?s almost worth the drive from LA! Flavorful choices... that screams yummmm in your taste buds!!! This place is super good and easy for a quick bite, or to hang out a little longer. We came for breakfast. The potatoes and... waffles were probably my favorite here, but the cinnamon rolls are also seriously delicious. They have scrambled eggs out, butyou can also order an omelette or eggs over easy, or however you want them, which is really neat. There's a whole fruit bar,yogurt, granola, cereal, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, all sorts of jams, melted butter and hot syrup for thewaffles, whipped cream and strawberry sauce, muffins, cupcakes, cobbler, and a mushroom-sausage stir fry. This place isdefinitely a great deal, the price is unbeatable, and the food is very very delicious. The staff was really friendly, and therestaurant overall has a really nice, country ambiance. Hodel?s has been a staple in Bakersfield since the Viet Nam war, long time. I came in for dinner with a party of four. They have... one of the best salad bars here. Three types of soup, wide variety of dinner entrees including tri-tip, beef tips over mashedpotatoes or rice, deep pit meat, fried chicken, chicken with lemon and cappers, lasagna and various vegetables. We just love Hodels. Such a great place to go to with my family and to know they have something each on of my kids love to eat.... And not to mention that it?s all you can eat which isn?t a bad deal for a mom of boys. I love the omelettes, waffles, and thefresh orange juice they serve.
