The pictures may not show you how deliscious the food was. ?They can't show you how tender the Ox Tail was as it was smothered... in a scrumptious gravy. ?The Chile Verde Breakfast Burrito with egg was a NEW item! I wanted to pick up the bones and make sureI got every deliscious morsel!? The Customer Service was warm, professional and made you feel like Family.? The full house wasevidence that THIS WAS GOING TO BE SOME DELISCIOUS FOOD! I will be going back to "J's Place"? Read more

Love this place! Been eating at this restaurant since it was a little hole in the wall on Ming Ave and followed it all the way... over to it's new location. It's fairly large inside and they can accommodate larger groups if needed. Usually always get thefriend chicken breasts and I switch up the sides because they're all good. I've never eaten dessert here because I'm always toofull from all the food. But I bet it's just as good as everything else. The staff is also very friendly and I've never had badservice. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. Read more

I've been coming to J's Place for at least 10 years and I've never been disappointed. Their food is just as good and consistent... as it was when they were at the Ming location. My go-to's when I come to J's is the breasts and a waffle with dirty rice. Thefried chicken is nicely seasoned, I actually prefer the taste of J's chicken to Roscoe's any day. The waffle is way better thanRoscoe's too because they put cinnamon in the batter and it makes it so flavorful! Their Kool aid is bomb too, tons of sugar, but it tastes like a desert drink, highly recommend the red. Read more

I feel the Southern warmth here. It?s a good stop over if you?re traveling all the way to Los Angeles. The gas is a little... pricey here and this town is a good detour. The place closes at 9 PM on Saturday but the staff is nicely enough to let us stayaround a little longer. Read more

I wasn't sure about going to a southern restaurant in California, but I had a great meal at J"s Place. I ordered their three... popular dishes. The oxtail was my main dish, then I ordered a piece of their chicken and catfish. The oxtail was great. The meatfell of the bone. The flavor was spot on. The catfish was also great. 1A 1B between the two. The fish was moist, the breadingwas crispy and well seasoned. Lovely. The chicken was actually also good. But compared to the other two something's gotta give. Read more

Reasonably priced. Best soul food in town. The ribs are nicely sized, the corn bread is delicious, and the cinnamon waffles are... unique. Everything is very tasty. When it gets busy it can get a little stressful if you don't like noisy places. I believe youcan call ahead to reserve a spot as it's usually very busy. If you don't call ahead and show up during a busy time i found thatthe waiting time isn't usually too long. The staff and servers are very friendly and helpful. Read more

I love this place. Their food is so good. It's comfort food. I have said in the past that one must be a fool to believe there... is some place better. It may simply be that J's Place brings comfort to my heart and mind. It's like going to grandma's housefor an awesome home cooked meal. This is the place to go when you are happy. Also the place to go when you are sad. The besthome cooked meal anyone could ever want-other than in your own kitchen. Read more
