We had the Chile Verde burrito and a chicken fajita chimichanga. You can ask for a sample of the Chile Verde and they'll bring... out a little of the sauce to try. The Chile Verde is in the top 3 I've had in Bakersfield (The taco stand at Home Depot onRosedale back in the day, Cataldos Pizza on Stockdale/Allen). The service was good. We had a late dinner due to a graduation. We arrived to a mostly empty dining room. We asked if they were closed and they... welcomed us in. We immediately got a drink order and aperitivos were served. I was very pleased with their chile verde. Thespices were spot on. The service was friendly despite the fact that we were oblivious to the fact that we showed up minutesbefore closing. Bland/poor Mexican food that lacked all flavor! My family recommended I try this place out when I flew into Bakersfield. So... yesterday night my family and I walked in and sat down to eat. I will say I was extremely disappointed with thefood! Food/taste/flavor: I ordered the shrimp wrapped in bacon, refried beans, rice covered with cheese. It lacked all flavor,spices and taste. I also tried their chilli releno and was sorely disappointed with each and every bite! I'd rate this place as1 star higher than cafeteria food. Atmosphere/Ambience: Really nice inside and had a good mexican/American tone. Service: Ourserver was very professional, kind, and creativity entertaining! He understood how to maintain great service while providing ahumorous attitude throughout our entire meal. Price: Way overpriced for the low quailty food taste and lack of flavor! I eatour 6 days a week and we have tried thousands of different mexican restaurants. I would not recommend this place to my worstenemy. Read more
We came in around 6 on a Friday evening. Wasn't a crowd and the services was VERY slow. For the amount of time they took you... would think the food was fresh. Everything seems like it was microwaved . Food a plain and not good . 2 of the 4 got sick assoo. As week got home. I was very disappointed. The Rubens on Calloway is way better and have no comparison to this location.Don't waste your money here. Because if you complain about your food or service you will still pay your full tab regardless ifyou stop eating your plate or send it back . Read more
