A good down home steakhouse! If you follow me here on Google reviews you know that I don't give out five star ratings very... often. Food: we had the dinner for two and had both their steaks. My steak literally melted in my mouth. I've never had suchtender meat in my whole life. That is saying something seeing how I was raised on a farm. With real ingredients that did notgive me any type of corn reaction from my corn allergy. The alcoholic drink was very sugary and could not taste the alcohol verymuch at all. Service was prompt, precise, and not pesky at all. Our server stayed on top of drinks and even provided our kidwith a booster seat and crayons with his menu. Been dining here for years as regular, while dining in the food quality and service is usually great. I have been consistently... disappointed with the food quality with both take out and delivery. The baked potatoes are hard like they have been setting inthe oven overnight or microwaved, we ask for extra rolls and never get them, last night the rolls were hard and crunchy likelarge croutons. I truly understand the staffing and turnover issues we are having, I believe this management team can get thisaddressed, until this will not be my first delivery or take out option and will see you as we dine in only until then. Unfortunately this was the second mediocre service dinner. Many seasoned servers have changed jobs since the pandemic and... understand food service as I am in that industry as well. Food was tasty, drinks took a great deal of time to get. Our serverwas nice. And he was shocked as I was when I found some plastic in my food. I gave him the item and he went back to inform theteam. He said my meal would be comped per manager., I said that was very nice of them. We continued with our meal (group of 5).When paying our ticket, after my husband paid it I saw that my meal was NOT comped or discounted. So here is the picture of theplastic stuff that was in broccoli. Like a multi layer plastic thing from plastic bags almost. In the future, I will not leaveuntil I speak to them about the ticket. *this broccoli was literally sitting under the top brocc...broccoli.... almost like itwas strategically placed. Unfortunate we didn’t have a good experience. Nothing special about the steak (not tender neither). The witter forgot to... bring the bread, and never came back to check on us. We had to ask at the entrance desk where we needed to pay because we wereleft alone for a long time. It was our first time visiting this restaurant. We were very disappointed. El bistec no estaba nide buen sabor, ni suave. El mesero no nos dio buena atención. Tuvimos que preguntar dónde pagar porque como era la primera vezque visitábamos pues no sabíamos a donde pagar. Tahoe Joe's is a staple in Bakersfield. The food is good, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it is always clean. They are also... generous enough to support local organizations by helping out with fundraisers by way of selling meal tickets - which is theprimary reason for this 5 star review. We enjoy just about everything about Tahoe Joe's - except the steak ????. Everything elseseems to come out juicy and flavorful, but the steaks ("medium rare" in picture) have always been dry. We went here for a date and there was only one lady working. The service was honestly not good. I had high hopes for this place.... we were also the only diverse people there. They even served us last when the other people that came in after got their mealshot and ready. Us however, our meals were all room temp and the pasta was dry. And the ribs tasted microwaved. The calamari waseven fishy. The waitress asked everyone around us different things like if they wanted cheesecake and soup or salad but not us.It wasn't even dinner menu. She even would avoid our table. Terrible experience. And our stomachs hurt after. Also for 2 peopleit came out to like 80 dollars which was not ideal. Read more
