Absolutely delicious, homemade-tasting, comfort food for a wallet-friendly price at Lucas Dominican Restaurant. The staff is... always courteous and welcoming and willing to explain any dish with which I am not familiar being of non-Latino descent. Thanksto Lucas chef(s), I've enjoyed their pasteles en hoja with pork, mangu, sancocho, mondongo (tripe soup), ceviche, pernil,various types of rice, the spare ribs, churrasco, chicharron and stew cod fish. Definitely a fan. Definitely glad they're in theneighborhood on all those nights I'm not cooking. After the last 2 months of treating myself 2 nights a week minimum, I have myfavorites but still enjoy the variety of food and soups (new and familiar) that rotate through the daily menu. My husband and I have ordered food from here a few different times. Recently, we ordered a mangu with salami and fried cheese.... If they would have sliced the cheese any thinner I would have been able to see through it. The mangu tasted like vinegar...notgood at all. Disappointed overall. Read more
My fiancé and I wanted to try a new Dominican restaurant and we were very disappointed with the food. We ordered on Grubhub and... everything was delivered on time and hot. We ordered a whole rotisserie chicken which was VERY dry and over cooked, we gave itto our dogs. The mofongo was good but they gave no sauce. The white rice was hard and undercooked. My fiancé makes better riceand she is from England. We also ordered sancocho the meat was again dry and hard to eat. Im Dominican myself and this was veryfar from authentic Dominican food. Read more

Very nice people that work here and own this restaurant. Good vibes ! The chicken, fish and kibbeh (quipes) are all very... delicious and the pork is quite good very tender. I always enjoy their food. It's a home-cooked meal. The portions are verygenerous. They are very efficient and organized and it's kept very clean. I highly recommend Lucas Dominican Restaurant.
