This was our 4th stay at the Ballard Inn, fabulous area and they new owners have made excellent upgrades to the hotel common... areas and patios, excellent seating areas to enjoy. We received warm & welcoming handwritten cards on our bed for ourAnniversary and my birthday, what a nice touch!! And of course the cookies every evening placed in our room always appreciated. We enjoyed our dinner at restaurant, Kip and the entire staff made our evening perfect!! I believe some of the rooms are likelyin the midst of being upgraded, ours was a bit worn out, understandable given the changes that are in progress (the landscapecrew was very quiet, making sure to not make noise, greatly appreciated) Overall our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable! The Inn is charming with many places (including front porch) to sit and chat. Our room (Jarado) was very comfortable - hard... wood floor, armoire to hang clothes, nice decor. Bed linens were nice. The bed was too soft for us (there was an egg cratefoam topper) but we survived. Continental breakfast was very good - fresh quiche and scones, granola and yogurt. Wish they'dhad some fruit as well. Didn't eat in the restaurant. Bakery across the street is excellent although expect a longish wait. Nice neighborhood. Read more

After 5 nights, I am sorry to say my time here has come to an end. I really enjoyed being spoiled. Your complementary... breakfast, complementary evening cold cuts, cheeses and wine are an incredible way of getting strangers together forinteresting conversations. The freshly baked cookies at night are the cherry on the cake. THANK YOU!!! The reception girlsgreet me with big smiles every time I arrived to the hotel and wished me a happy day every time while leaving for the day. Thehotel is a boutique hotel, small, decorated with great taste and centrally located. A bit pricey but worth every cent. Highlyrecommended. Read more

The staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was fine and roomy. There is construction going on around the property which made... it a little noisy and not so attractive to look outside. What really surprised me was their very meager breakfast. We wereserved a cold and hard quiche that we couldn’t even eat, some cheap granola, yougart, and strawberries. When we booked theroom, it claimed a homemade breakfast. For paying more than $500.00 for a room you expect a decent breakfast. Read more

We have stayed at the exquisite Ballard Inn four times previously. It is nestled in such a lovely, private, quiet area. Simply... gorgeous! This was our first time staying since new owners have taken over. They are doing some remarkable and impressiveimprovements. We were not aware that the fabulous dining room is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays, so I cannot comment on the newchef or menu. However, everything else was up to the standard of the Ballard’s prior reputation in regards to roomcleanliness, public space ambiance, delicious breakfast, and evening wine & charcuterie. We particularly enjoyed the newrestaurant manager, Kip, a knowledgeable sommelier who shared much information and stories about the valley. In addition, thestaff are all amazingly sweet and helpful. Highly recommend the Mountain Room as it is large and has a private balcony. BallardInn is by far the best place to stay in the area! Read more

This was a last minute trip for my husband's birthday. The room was beautiful with a working fireplace. Dinner was amazing. We... can't wait to return for another getaway. Read more

The location and property itself is gorgeous. Staff was extremely cordial and accommodating, and the wine and cheese hour in the... early evening was a special touch. The rooms are cozy and well decorated. They're on the smaller side, however, we were kind ofexpecting that walking in, so it didn't faze us. Overall, I thought the pricing was a bit steep, but it's comparable to otherprices in the Central Valley. Ultimately, it's just too beautiful a spot to complain about anything. Read more

Location was great and very quiet. I had reserved a ground floor room as I was traveling with a heavy bicycle and wanted to be... able to put it in my room at night. When I arrived they had changed my reservation to a second floor room although the staffdid make accommodations for my bike in the end. The room was OK as to size, but had no storage for any clothes and nowhere tolay out my suitcase. The bathtub/shower had no grab handles or soap dish. My balance is not what it used to be, so I had to bevery careful not to fall getting in or out of the shower. I wanted to use my computer during my stay at night but there was noplace comfortable to use it in the room. I think the rooms could have been better thought out as to guests needs. Therestaurant was OK, but not special. For the price I don't know if I would stay there again. Read more
