The food and the service have been 5 star both times we have dined at the Charlton tavern. The food quality and presentation are... top notch, our server could not have been more on point. The drinks are as well prepared as the food. If there is one thing Iwould change it is the lighting, it was a bit too dark where we sat, but that would never deter from stopping there anytime weare near there. Highly recommend ???? ???? Surprisingly good food and good experience. Came here on a Monday evening at prime dinner time and didn't have any wait for a... table. Staff was super quick and friendly, very helpful. Have eaten there twice this week. Everything was perfect! Fresh baked bread, large portions, friendly service. Will be back
We were a group of three who went on a Thursday. There were only two (a few?) waitresses on staff for the entire restaurant so... service was incredibly slow. We ordered after 20 minutes. The drinks came 10 minutes after that. I ordered baked haddock whichcame with rice and steamed vegetables. The vegetables were overcooked and so were quite mushy. The rice tasted like it came froma package. The portion of haddock was quite large which was nice, however, it should have been cooked a bit longer. Presentationwas a bit odd: it came with a sprig of rosemary sticking up out of it on one end and an emaciated slice of lemon on the otherend. The lemon was impossible to squeeze onto the fish (tip: a wedge of lemon works much better). The fish could have beenbetter seasoned. While ordering the waitress asked what type of salad dressing I would like. However, I never received a salad.If she ever visited our table again after our food was served I would have asked about it but that never happened. My motherordered the salmon burger which came with macaroni salad. Neither were particularly good and she didn't finish them. Mystepfather ordered the southwestern chicken sandwich which he said was good. We won't be returning anytime soon. The restaurantwas very busy and we were happy for them so I'm sure they won't be missing us. The feeling is mutual. Read more
Good food a little pricey but not bad.. however we felt rushed only halfway thru salad when meal arrived.. got half a roll of... sliced bread and you get charged if you want /need more....REALLY???? Read more
The Charlton Tavern is such a great place. The food is outstanding, the customer service is excellent and the prices are very... reasonable.
