Literally the best in Baltimore. I do miss the pandemic sandwiches, but I'll live. Comptoir makes French food that is seasonal,... simple, and delicious, with lovely cocktails and wine. The food at Le Comptoir du Vin was pretty good, but the interior is very tight and a meal for two is pretty pricey. Plates are... comparable to Petit Louis, but I can't say it slaps as hard. The duck rillettes and raw scallops were both pleasant, though Iwanted the scallops to have a touch more acid to brighten the bites. My SO really enjoyed his veal tongue. The pot pie wasgood. Adorable hidden gem of Baltimore. You can smell the quality of ingredients used as you walk in and the people are very friendly... and helpful and knowledgeable about the imports from wine to vinegar to pasta and canned fish. It's definetily everything it's cracked up to be. My brother made reservations well in advance before our trip to Baltimore... back in Feb. It's a small bistro with seating for less than 30. The menu is all limited but what they do with theiringredients is phenomenal. Like who thought a celery salad could be so delicious???
