My favorite place for creative soul food brunch in Baltimore. It's always busy so accept that you may have to wait for a table... especially on Sat or Sun. I like Miss Shirley's because the atmosphere is nice and the staff is always friendly and never bother you if you sit too long.... It's a great place for out of town guests for that reason. The food is always good, but sometimes I think the options can feellimited. I am not that big on breakfast food and the other options are definitely not low carb. ???? However, the food is alwaysfresh and delicious. It's not a cheap place either, but like I say, nothing is nowadays. Nice place to go for Sunday brunch orlunch with your girlfriends. Me and my wife ate here for the first time on Wednesday for my birthday. Our waiter was exceptional and gave out great feedback... on the food we asked him about. We started with the hot honey fried chicken deviled eggs and monkey bread, both were delicious.My only complaint about the monkey bread is some of the bread was tough, overall I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. We also hadthe strawberry orange juice which was delicious as well. For our meal we both went with peach cobbler french toast, it was verydelicious and fulfilling. Great breakfast! Service was awesome! Very friendly and attentive My wife and I started with the hot honey chicken deviled... eggs. Very good. Sauce has a bit of a kick to it! I went with the fried chicken biscuits and gravy omelet. It was delicious.Highly recommend. My wife went with the monthly French toast special. Very delicious too. The food was delicious. I never had fried green tomatoes. They were sweet and fried to perfection. The fried deviled eggs were a... delicacy that I devoured! Stuffed French toast amazing! Overall experience very fun brunch location, really enjoyed the outdoor dining. Food arrived hot and well cooked. If you want... something different for breakfast then this is your place. I'm not a fan of all the mix and match breakfast items or the mixtureof flavors but the food is over good. Drinks are delicious! Waiter Roy was really helpful and accommodating when I asked toreturn a dish I was not fond of, it was nothing wrong with the dish, just wasn't for me. I've been here so many times in the past but never wrote a review. Recently visited after a long hiatus and it was like finding... a long lost friend. The banana chocolate pancakes were amazing. The shrimp and grits were superb. The monkey bread is anexcellent group appetizer to share. I wouldn't recommend the shepherd's pie because it just doesn't have a very traditionalfeel. Read more

I got taken here for lunch while I was interviewing for a position in Baltimore. It?s a southern-style, homestyle cooking and it... was incredible. I was excited to here the place was featured on ?Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives? and I had to get an item from theshow. I got the shrimp and grits and it was everything I could have hoped for.
