I live nearby and was craving tamales, then I remembered this place advertising them on their sign out front. Ordered nearly 20.... Very friendly people despite me being very shy. The tamales didn't disappoint! Read more

I was visiting the area looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. With a variety of local Spanish places selling Mexican Food I... opted for this corner shop as they advertised Tamales. I was not disappointed at all. I highly recommend the Tamales if you likea bit of spice to them and also recommend Tacos de Carnitas. Food was seasoned and authentic. Read more

A side from decor not fitting the theme...food was amazing. Large portions but very well seasoned.

Lovely family restaurant with warm and delightful owners, great food in generous portions. We came just after they moved into... their new location on Wolfe and Eastern. We'll definitely return soon. Read more

This is a wonderful family-owned restaurant. They are very sweet and welcoming. My dish and all of the sides were incredibly... tasty and I especially love their guacamole. I will definitely keep coming back! Read more

I tried calling this place at 3 after their lunch rush so as not to put a rush on them. After speaking to the waitress for... several minutes and realizing she spoke little to no english, I asked to speak to the manager, at which point she hung up on me.Using google translate I called back and politely asked for the manager repeatedly, at which point they passed the phone aroundto each other, toying with me, and mimickong me in the background for five minutes. I could hear at least two staff membersmocking my attempts at communication, and several other girls laughing the whole time as if this were some joke to them. Thesepeople seriously lack class. Once I got to the restaraunt, I did my best to act like I wasn't bothered by the awful waitingservice I received, and the food looked as if someone had just thrown some cheese rice and beans onto a plate haphazardly andhoped it would settle into an appetizing dish, but it did not. The food was crap, the staff made this experience even worse. Iwill never come here again, and implore all of you to skip this destination if you are looking for a meal. These people aren'teven worth your time or money. Read more

This place was one of the weirdest places I've ever been. The decor had absolutely nothing to do with Mexican food or Mexico. ... It was like a mini Haussner's with paintings hanging everywhere. The waitress spoke absolutely no English at all. I mean otherthan the items on the menu, it was impossible to communicate with her, because I don't speak Spanish. We had to try three timesto get a beer that they weren't out of. The only soda they had was Coke. But, the food was nothing short of excellent. Largeportions, very spicy, and very good. The black beans were sublime. All the ingredients were fresh, and everything was spicyhot. I went there with three other people and all of us really enjoyed our meal. At the end of the meal, we spoke to theowner and he was just the nicest guy. I get what all these other reviewers are saying because if you're looking for a generic, chain restaurant, Don Pablo's kind of experience this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a quirky, differentkind of experience that you could only get in Balwmer, then Carolina's is an absolute must. Read more
